Fuel up/down again

Filled a Muslanne up from running on fumes to the brim today. 89L of Sainsbury's finest coming to a grand total of £115.69 .

What I did find impressive was the trip computer claimed a range of 360 miles which works out at 18MPG. Not too bad for a 6.75L twin turbo pushrod V8 which I believe is used mostly for town driving :).

I put 100 quid in mine today and it confessed to 11.3 .....result :)

They are great aint they them Mulsanne :)

I really didn't want to like them but today was my first chance to have a proper play around with one and I have to say that it really is fantastic. It is so good that I can almost forgive the looks. Almost :).

i think they are the ultimate car, the absolute top of the mountain, all the good bits of a cont gt with the feel of a arnage, when my wife aint looking you watch me get one of them next year :) as it goes this year its a new year

Didn't realise the current Mulsanne had such a small (!) tank compared with the old model. Gary's Mulsanne S takes 24 gal (109 litres for those who can't do maths) to fill it from bog empty, which works out at around £137 at the current price at our local garages.

Guess they really have made the old 6¾ litre warhorse a bit more efficient over the years :)

You told us yesterday that you got 32-34?

This is why I abandoned this Forum for ages. Fox you argue with everyone and about everything.

Open your eyes to the world, not everyone has had such a privileged life as you. There are less fortunate in the world and it is not necessarily their fault. People make mistakes, me included very much so.

We don't all calculate extra fuel costs in how many takeaway Pizza's we have to give up. For some (including myself) this rise in fuel is the difference for me eating normally to now once a day.

Tough world, I hope you never have to go through what some of us do.

Good grief, where on earth did all that come from? ...Fox picking up on some figures that didn't line up? ... :p

You have to be pretty weak minded and feeble to stop posting because of one person. Sensing some bitterness, resentment and a big ass chip on the shoulder too. Chances are if the fuel increase forces you to eat beans out of a tin once a day, it's time to ask for a payrise, get a better job or not suck at finances.

To be honest I was a little 'disappointed' too. It is not even like the tank wasn't really empty either - For a few minutes before pulling into the station we started to hear the dreaded fuel pump whine. Thankfully we made it, pushing a 3 tonne car up a busy London road was really not what I wanted to do at 8:30 in the morning :D.

The engine has got the ability to run on 4 cylinders so I imagine that helps fuel economy no end around town. Really impressive car :)

If buying petrol is stopping you eating, you need to give up driving till your back on an even keel.

I hope things get better for ya soon.

Are you arguing with me about arguing with people

I can only assume your attack is as a result of the other guy not me asking Vita about his fuel economy because thats a mighty odd response to a post questioning mpg.

The other guys story is tragic and a real shame but none of that was in his original post - he quite clearly stated fuel costs are what was stopping him earning £22k a year and having to a £6 an hour job. Others, as well as myself, quite rightly questioned this. And fancy that - we were right - it wasn't fuel costs at all, it was other frankly quite reasonable factors which really were behind his change. Not the price of fuel.

I'm not going to comment on you only having one meal a day because of the fuel price because we'll just get into another pointless fight over that I would imagine.

I reset the trip computer on my 1.3 Yaris yesterday when I filled up. So far I've done 112miles, roughly 50 in stop start traffic around town and the rest on constant 30/40 roads and motorway driving and the trip computer is reading 39mpg.

I love motors, so many experts, some of the bullying that goes on in here is shocking, hounding people because they don't know as much as you or get confused on a subject.

Its not bullying, they are just little arguments, everyone says their bit then thats that.

Another day and a new start.

Some dont stop, they need to have the last post, if the OP or anyone posts back they just never stop until the poster is crying or has committed suicide.

I lie, just been out again and it was actually 44mpg. 39mpg was from town only.
