Fuel up/down again

I have noticed many more people going slow on the inside lane of the motorway and the outer two lanes free a lot more. Fine by me, more open road for the rest of us who don't care about a couple of extra quid on fuel - of course I would prefer it to be cheaper though.

lol it can save you £10-£20 a week? I only fill up with about £55 a week - does this mean i could shave up to 35% off my fuel bill JUST by not slipping my clutch for 3 seconds at the lights?!

She sounds like the sort of incompetent driver who goes through 3 clutches a year....

'For Sale, Ford Fiesta, ONE WOMAN OWNER, FSH'

lolz

It's £5.20p to use the M6 toll, if the motorway and roads are going to be 'empty' then i think a few quid more per trip is a bargain.

You just know people are going to take that advice even when it's wet and dark.

I hate people, I really do.

hahaha :D

You just KNOW that you're going to see a completely iced up car, with shivering occupants, driving around with no lights. But unlucky guys, they'll be getting 2mpg more than you!! NOW WHO'S LAUGHING?!?!

My LPG is 71.1, yay :)

It will go up sooner or later, its made from the same $X barrel of oil as petrol its just cheaper because the is less duty on it and they are only keeping the price low because the are few LPG cars out there and they want to make it look appealing, once people buy more LPG cars and have more conversions done (both require payment of VAT) the duty on it will rise.

I wouldn't be surprised if petrol goes over £1.50 a litre soon...

Is an LPG conversion still considered worthwhile or is it more trouble than it's worth?

I thought the conversion was a couple of grand so depending on the number of miles you do, it would take about two years before you broke even on your original investment and only then would you start saving.

I was under the impression that buying a pre-converted LPG was worth while (if that's what you're in to) but that doing the conversion yourself was a false economy.

Depends how many miles you are doing.

If you are doing doing lots of miles, the conversion cost can be made back quick enough and you are quids in.

I can get my Jeep 6 cylinder converted for £1000 but because I do so few miles it would take me years to make it back. Last tank I got about 160 miles from 80 quid all urban uphill downhill driving but it still lasted me 5 weeks. Hence why I can afford to keep a 4.0L vehicle without fuss.

Buying already converted cars is probably the best idea BUT there are good and bad conversions and bad ones will cost a fortune to put right.

Stuck in a tank of V-Power 98 the other day at €1.615 per litre.. Certainly surprised me. **** OPEC.
I make that 139ppl. Is that more expensive than the UK yet?

I know its tradition for BP to be more expensive than anyone else but ventured past the local ones today and was shocked at how much more they are than anyone else. A whopping 8p a litre more than Morrisons & Sainsburys which are about a minute drive from them & 5p more than the local Shell. Needless to say nobody was filling up.
