Ah Ok. Can you Bench your card at those Overclock'd Mem/Core speeds, just want to compare lol. 3dmark05 if/when you have time.
Thanks.

Vita said:Right, well I thought I'd try one last time to get this card going in my system. I belive in in Luck, so I tried.
I noticed and already new before 2 of the pins on the 20pin connector from PSU to motherboard are burnt. 1 is serverly Burnt. Anyway, Like I give a damn, I popped my card in, defaulted the BIOS, and BOOM! Everything working fine. No hitch-ups no nothings. PSU hasn't even cut out, everything fine.
Going to try some games now, see if it cuts out then.
Vita said:But the PSU came with a case, and I transferd it over to a new case. So It isn't under warrenty. Anyway, I've put a old GFX card in, and everything looks to be ok tbh. I've had one hell of a week I guess.
Nice Score VitaVita said:But don't let this put you off guys. I clocked it @ 450/1300 and it gave 7250points in 3dmark05.

Mmm, this may be a silly question and you may have tried these, but are you trying it on single monitor (input on left of the back of the card at first, and does your bios give an indication of the power supplied to the card, do you have any other PCI cards in slots that may conflict with this card, remove to test for the time being, otherwise try driver remover, reinstal from fresh download from Nvidiaillicit007 said:So here's the issue.
I plug the card in boot the computer but when the screen comes on whiles it's booting up through the BIOS stages, blocks are missing here and there and some of the characters are all jumping around the place all funny.
I checked the BIOS is totally up to date. I reset it back to default mode and played around with the agp apeture size and fast writes on and off.
I'm using a Seasonic 600W power supply with the pci-e proper connector.
So I took it out and put my old 9800pro back in there and it worked fine again.
Any ideas guys? Help would be muchly appreciated.

Nice one Sid, glad u got it all up and running, we have almost identical rigs (good taste )SiD the Turtle said:The early benches are in:
My system is as follows:
Pentium 4 Northwood 3.2Ghz 800Mhz Bus
2Gb Geil Ultra 3200 (2 x sets of 512Mb matched pairs)
Abit IC7
Antec True Blue 480Watt (version 1)
Here are the results comparing my old 9800XT and the new 7800GS 512Mb. The first number being the old, the second being the new:
3DMark01: 18305 --> 20647
3DMark03: 6755 --> 14661
3DMark05: 3178 --> 6371
3DMark06: 1021 --> 3360
Looks about average compared to other systems of the same spec, apart from 06 where I'm 'in the lead' for my spec. Probably because I'm the only one with a 512Mb card listed.
Two things to do now are to overclock it (how do you do that with an NVidia card, never tried it before), and to rebuild the system a fresh to get rid of all of the gunk, as its been running for quite a while now with a tonne of junk on it.
Ditto, might also try reinstaling motherboard drivers, phewVita said:Hmm strange. I only got the artifact problem when I overclocked. Anyways, try re-steaing your card. That should help, if not that, try a CMOS clear. (Take battery out from motherboard, while the computer is off and put it back in about a Minute later). Make sure all connections are secure.
But yeah, re-seating your card should help. Take it out, put it back in.
Also, download driver cleaner pro, get rid of all ATi drivers on your HDD.
Yup, same for me + high quality is the real benefit of this upgradeafraser2k said:Very happy with the results of adding this card to my machine now. It's doubled the 3dMark I was getting and I can also game at high quality in 1280x1024 for my TFT.
