Games you're playing, and games...

Cool. Then what do you think is not anime about it? Not being a dick, just curious.

He has avoided the question from me as well, so I'm guessing he doesn't actually have a genuine answer outside of some weird kind of Reddit gatekeeping community standard.

Unless it's because this standard only classes anime is having a main character who is supposed to be under the age of 16. In which case I understand why it would not have been appealing.

Hmm I think I am more inclined to agree with your first point rather than the second but who knows. Strange times.

Just got round to playing Red Dead Redemption again, for its age, it looks pretty damn good.

I was about to play RDR2 on ps+ but they took it off the service late September. This is the worst part of these subscriptions. Games coming and going.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon - Never played a Yakuza game before, tried this out of curiosity and absolutely loved it! Currently on the last chapter, 100 hours in, had an absolute blast. Love the mini games, done most if not all of the sub stories, Level 74 - story was interesting took many twists and turns! Really liked Ichiban Kasuga as a character, the humour and the randomness of the game was fantastic, definitely will be playing more of the Yakuza series :D

100 hours wow. Think I’m around 25 hours in. Yeah Ichiban is great isn’t he. If you liked the wackiness of this then you should like the others too. Though this is the only one with turn based combat. The others are all brawlers and still fun. Yakuza Kiwami is a remaster of the first Yakuza game so you should start there. A great spin off series to check out as well (same devs same location) are the Judgement games. Both brilliant.

I’m currently playing Deathloop as it is part of my PS+ library at the moment. Not sure how far in I am, I’d suggest maybe about half way in terms of story but there still feels an awful lot to see and do. It crashed on me today on a run through where I had taken down both Julianna and one of the Visionaries and I was sitting on about 40k residuum and a load of cool pick ups too. Bah.

To be fair it’s only the first crash I have had and I went back and run the same map again and achieved more or less the same outcome so it hasn’t been too much of a loss.

I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. It is an interesting game concept and I’m really quite engaged with it. It’s got a very Bioshock feel in many ways, particularly the Eternalists and the general dystopian vibe.

I’m glad I have this as part of my subscription but I wouldn’t feel hard done by if I had actually paid for it. I’m not sure it is the masterpiece some would make it out to be, but it is still a very solid game.

I have very similar thoughts on this game. I just finished it today on Game Pass. Really didn't think it was the sort of game I would enjoy, but it turned out to be great fun. I didn't have any crashes ; ran flawlessly for me.

Going to have a bit of time off with a snapped tib/fib and fractured back, so treated myself to Sniper Elite 5 - £32 off of Amazon so not to be sniffed at!

Wouldn't mind TLOU re-re-master too, but it's still silly price, so I'll give that a miss for now.

Completed it last night, and the ending was quite emotional! For all the weirdness in the game they can really draw you in with the emotions, have to give this a 10/10.

Tempted to go for Platinum, unlocked New Game+

Currently reinstalling forza horizon 4 ultimate. About 3800 gamer points so should have alit of new content since I last played around launch time.

at 90 odd gigs it’s taking some time to download on my current connection. :(

I'm currently playing asterigos curse of the stars, for £28 it's a gem. It has the art style of fenyx with souls like gameplay. Fightincowboy has a few streams of it on YouTube.

Tried deathloop. Hasn't really grabbed me at all. I'm just bimbling about exploring stuff even though the game keeps telling me I don't need to because I'll be able to do it later.

You’re not alone. I didn’t get what all the fuss was about and was really disappointed.

The more I play this game the more I understand it’s intricacies.

Unsurprisingly, for a game about time, timing is everything. It’s like one big time based puzzle that you need to unpick as you go. With each loop I learn more and more.

I can understand if it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I would recommend people make sure they understand the game before giving up on it. It’s deviously designed, right down to randomising passcodes etc so you can’t just Google your way through the game.

I’m surprised at how intelligent the game is compared to most modern titles and the lack of hand holding with many aspects of the game resonate with me given I’m from that generation before tutorials and hand holding were a thing in games.
