Games you're playing, and games...

just started Cyberpunk 2077. done a couple of missions now off to meet someone for a new gig. not feeling the love yet, hope it picks up.

Just completed ME1 and about to start ME2 but now I'm having second thoughts and want to make a Fem renegade shep but then I also want to wine and dine Miranda.....

Exactly same place as me, completed ME1 his afternoon. Thankfully I'm not having the same doubts about sexuality and identity so I just got cracking with ME2. Good luck! :p

PS, great story so far, looking forward to the rest.

Finished up Evil West, quite a fun game, nothing too difficult, story was alright but the game play I found to be the highlight of this, straight up killing enemies :D Can get abit repetitive, but a nice game just to sit and chill out with :)

Not sure what to play next, i'm thinking Cyberpunk 2077

Just about to wrap up God of War: Ragnarok but probably won't go for the platinum trophy as the side content is starting to irritate me a bit ( endless puzzles that can only be solved one way ... it's fun in small doses but large areas of the same grates ). Then, in a few days time, I plan to play Monster Hunter Rise on Series X. Had a great time with this game on the Switch when it came out almost 2 years ago but I'm looking forward to playing it in 4K/60.

Done with FarCry 6 so I’m going to give Witcher 3 a proper go. Had a couple of hours on it today controls are a bit wonky but it looks beautiful with the update so I will persevere. Got passed the early griffin twice before but never felt compelled to progress further. I am there now and enjoying it more with the smoother frames.

You try the “alternative control” option? Makes Geralt more snappy.

I switched to that earlier actually and it definitely helped. I had some stick drift which I’ve fixed so a lot happier with it now. Looking forward to seeing why everyone likes the game!
I just finished it a week ago (still got a little bit left to do in blood and wine..) but the main story is done. It’s so good. I think i put about 100 hours into it mopping up a lot of side quests. You get side quests thrown at you left right and centre. But they’re all lore filled , and fairly long in length. (Very hq)

When you finish the main game, I suggest blood and wine, it’s basically another game (the map is a lot bigger than I expected)

I've been reaquainting myself with Monster Hunter Rise on Switch ready for the gamepass release on Friday. I can see myself putting a few hundred hours into this on xbox, it should at least tied me over untill Woo Long and Lies of P.

Oh well, I ended up getting the platinum trophy for God of War: Ragnarok after all. A couple of very challenging fights to get the last remaining trophies. Excellent game overall, very polished and a great cinematic experience. Now eagerly awaiting my reacquaintance with Monster Hunter Rise on the Series X in 3 days time. Will also chip away at Chained Echoes on the side.

I know this isn’t a Witcher thread but OK I am hooked it’s brilliant. At around 25 hours this week so yeah I am into it! So glad I waited for the upgrade it plays so much better now. I am playing through the story up to a point then doing contracts and sidies to level myself up a bit if I feel I need to.

Glad you’re enjoying it ! I hadn’t played it since release, so everything was like new to me.

That’s a good shout. Play main story until you’re high enough level for the side quests / contracts. That’s how I did it. I usually put myself 2 levels above suggested as some contracts are hard as nails.

Ha I can do mobs 3-5 levels or so higher than me but monster contracts can wreck you so like you say I am aiming to be around their level or perhaps 1-2 higher. Anyway yeah it great so far and massive I’ll be here for a while yet.

I tried it but couldn't get into Cyberpunk at all, I always find first person games do the opposite of immersion for me, I just get bored, 100% prefer 3rd person games.

Started the PS5 version of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, loving it! Looking forward to the the sequel in a few months :D

Gave RDR2 MP a crack recently, what a complete waste of time that was - couldn't do a private server with mates; we ended up getting pretty much insta-killed by some rank 300+ guys. Found a few 'hacks' online, the only one that worked was changing the MTU to get a solo server, but couldn't get the one for a private server to work - so we sacked that game off. Such a shame, as the world could offer so much fun, but being lumped in with all the higher ranked players, with no means to prevent combat - it's just a grief-fest.

Found an offer on Watch Dogs Legion for 12 quid, so gonna give that a punt; though I'm pretty sure the 'modern' characters will probably grate on me - they did on the second one, which slowly made me care less and less about them and the game in general.

I started playing Bloodborne on the PS4 and never really progressed much past the opening area and gave up, but since playing and thoroughly enjoying Elden Ring I decided I'd give it another go on the PS5. Since starting over I've not been able to put the game down, to start with it feels far more linear than most games in so much as your choice of routes is limited, but then as you explore more you start finding more shortcuts and areas you hadn't spotted before and the game really opens up. The level design is really top notch and the boss fights whilst initially frustrating are brilliant once you start getting in the flow.

Can safely say if there is a PC release or a remaster I will happily be buying this again, and there's not many games I can say that for.

Currently playing NieR Automata. I don’t know how I feel about it yet…4 and a half hours in. I’m not sure.. does it get better ??

Kinda hard to explain how good it gets without spoilers but you've most probably haven't played anything like it in the last decade.

Whether that's good or bad is ultimately up to you, assuming you can reach the ending and find all of its secrets and little touches. Might be hard to fully appreciate without playing Replicant but it's a clever experience nonetheless and uses the strength of the medium to the fullest.

Anyways, I can't imagine you at least not appreciating what it does even if it doesn't entirely click with you, after all it's not an AAA title with a big budget and people have different preferences.
However, it's one of the very few games that all of my friends appreciated.

The soundtrack is one of the best ever and the way the game uses it is amazing.

Agree with this, would buy a remaster in a heartbeat. The level design and atmosphere are superb and it's still one of my favourite games ever.

You should try Sekiro if you haven't, best From combat system ever and an amazing game overall, very different from the rest of their output.
