Games you're playing, and games...

Kinda hard to explain how good it gets without spoilers but you've most probably haven't played anything like it in the last decade.

Whether that's good or bad is ultimately up to you, assuming you can reach the ending and find all of its secrets and little touches. Might be hard to fully appreciate without playing Replicant but it's a clever experience nonetheless and uses the strength of the medium to the fullest.

Anyways, I can't imagine you at least not appreciating what it does even if it doesn't entirely click with you, after all it's not an AAA title with a big budget and people have different preferences.
However, it's one of the very few games that all of my friends appreciated.

The soundtrack is one of the best ever and the way the game uses it is amazing.

Agree with this, would buy a remaster in a heartbeat. The level design and atmosphere are superb and it's still one of my favourite games ever.

You should try Sekiro if you haven't, best From combat system ever and an amazing game overall, very different from the rest of their output.
Thanks!

I’ve dropped it. I’ll just read a synopsis somewhere :P

No problem, I'd just let it go then and forget about it, a synopsis for this is pointless since it has to be played through thoroughly and it hits differently when you do.
It’s not just that.. the world feels lifeless..empty (yeah I know, as it should I guess :P ) I didn’t care for any of the characters. The combat was dull. The enemies were lacking any variety. Maybe I’ve just been spoilt by yakuza 7, persona 5 Royal etc.

I love jrpgs but this just didn’t click.

Gave RDR2 MP a crack recently, what a complete waste of time that was - couldn't do a private server with mates; we ended up getting pretty much insta-killed by some rank 300+ guys. Found a few 'hacks' online, the only one that worked was changing the MTU to get a solo server, but couldn't get the one for a private server to work - so we sacked that game off. Such a shame, as the world could offer so much fun, but being lumped in with all the higher ranked players, with no means to prevent combat - it's just a grief-fest.

Found an offer on Watch Dogs Legion for 12 quid, so gonna give that a punt; though I'm pretty sure the 'modern' characters will probably grate on me - they did on the second one, which slowly made me care less and less about them and the game in general.
I haven't played RDR online but it sounds just like GTA. Probably the most hostile and toxic online experience of any game I've played!
The MTU hack works in GTA too, was handy if you wanted to do something solo, your mates can still join but they will drop out frequently and without warning.

Alternating between FFVIIR and ER with some GT7 on the side and looking forward to playing Death Stranding, never got to finish it on PC so it'd be great to start again with the DC version.

So many games yet to try on PS+.

Agreed - but I'm pretty sure you can have a private lobby in GTA, unless that has been removed recently - and on GTA you can at least unable full on protection mode; but RDR offers neither of these features, which seems like such a backwards step imo.

Yes you can, I haven't played it for at least a year but apparently you can do you business deliveries and heist set ups in a friends only server too now. Seems daft RDR doesn't have that, must just be an utter grief fest.

Warhammer Chaosbane. And enjoyable diablo like game. I really feel these games are best played with a controller.

Monster Hunter Rise on gamepass has really hooked me. I beat Magnamara yesterday and today beat my third hunting test thing. I've only done 2 Rampages so far - I got them done but had no clue what I was doing. I have since watched Rurikhans youtube guide on Rampage mode, so should have more of an idea next time. I've not even tried multiplayer yet as I have stuck to going through the village quests. I've unlocked 5 star so should be on the hub quests soon.
I have gone with duel blades with elemental damage (currently blast damage).

Rampage mode is the the only thing I don't like about MHR - I'm just not into the tower defense mechanic/genre. Thankfully you don't need to do many of them to progress throughout the game. I haven't played much of it yet on Game pass ( HR4 I think ) ... decided to go with Switch Axe as my main this time ( I was a long sword/katana and bow user on the Switch ).

Titanfall 2 was great. Shame it felt so short. Had loads to it that kept it interesting - not just a run and gun. The time hop sequences were superbly done I thought, hadn't played a mechanic like that before.

Switching between

Xenoblade Chronicles ( fun but seems endless )

and

Ishin Like a Dragon - having played the original PS4 title I was looking for to this but it doesn't hold up so well today, seems quite slow and clunky . The translation is proving annoying too , it's too Americanised . It's set in Feudal Japan but someone deemed it fitting to use 'Pops' for father ffs.

Currently playing Elden ring, but not sure on what to play next, either cyberpunk or dead space remake (I’ve not played dead space) so both new games to me
