Games you're playing, and games...

I’m 20 hours in. Playing on easy. Normal felt quite tough at times.
I’ve immensely enjoyed the game up until now (goty) this just feels unnecessary.

Such a great game.

Edit. Put it this way. I’m getting one turn…to the boss’ twelve turns. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I’ve noticed a bit of that lately. I’m like wtf I’ve only had one hit and you get four? There are some skills that gain you an extra go so maybe it’s that?

Twelve is ridiculous. I’d just google how.

Took me an hour ish. But it’s done. Maybe I was playing incorrectly but it just felt so drawn out. In any case.. love the characters ! Loved the story ! Honestly it’s probably in tie for my goat with persona 5 royale.

I completed Metaphor last night, was good but gameplay loop wise reminded me a bit too much of Persona 5, would have been nice to see some new systems in the game. Still a great game though.

GOTY? Contender maybe. I think for originality I'd probably say Unicorn Overlord may win for me, that game is quite unique. Stellar Blade holds a special spot as well for it's ambition.

I played on hard and some of the fights were challenging.

Notes on who I used in the end and which jobs below in spoiler tags:

Physical classes are sort of broken in this game especially compared with casters.

MC - Prince
Strohl - Royal Warrior
Hulkenberg - Royal Knight
Basilio - Royal Berserker

You can get some pretty broken passives inherited. I took heal and res skills on Hulkenberg and the faker skill that can give you some extra turns. The others were boosts to physical skills.

With this line up the last fight was relatively easy, I finished at level 82 ish though.

UO is next on my list ! £35 atm on psn

There was a decently long demo to try if they still have it up. It was first portion of the game and carries over. Highly recommend that if you want to see what it's like.
Aye. Think I played the demo on switch, but they don’t seem to have sales as often. So will probably pick it up on PS.

Liked what I played though. Think I used all the time up on the demo too (5 hours I think)

Finished the Quiet Place game - I was amazed it was actually over tbh, doesn't seem like it took long to clock!

Priced about right, as it's certainly no AAA or decent indie title, it felt a lot like an old PC mod for something like Half Life 2 as I played it, some of the back streets reminded me of Kingpin Life of Crime for for some reason :D

The whole sneaky sneaky felt a bit meh tbh, the aliens or whatever they are, seem to always know where you are regardless of how sneaky you are - felt a little pointless at times, and there were areas with forced evasion bits. I felt they could have really done something better with the whole staying silent malarkey - a bit like how the terrain in games like Snow Runner and Death Stranding, can be a game in itself to traverse; being quiet really could have had a better reward/punishment system.

The character was hard to like - she seemed to literally be toking on inhalers after every action, it's handy that everyone in the world clearly had asthma, as the inhalers were all over the shop; this aspect was really the most tense bit imo.... I ran out at one point and had to do quite a big section on the verge of having an attack.

Probably rate it a 6/10, it's worth a play if you like the 2 films (the prequel can do one) and/or enjoy sneaky games, but otherwise, wait it to come down to a tenner

Dragon Age: Veilguard PS5. The internet may hate it but I am loving it. Looks incredible and I was going to wait for the Pro enhancements before I started it but couldn’t wait. I will be restarting it tomorrow when the Pro turns up. Sounds, haptics, story I love it.

Silent Hill 2 Remake - What an experience! Unbelievably atmospheric, very tense in places. The fog is unsettling but then the close corridors of the apartments and the hospitals is a different kind of tension, things lurking and creeping out of nowhere, was nice to get back to the outside fog :p

This is the sort of horror game I like, a blind play though and everything is just unknown and eerie... Makes the mind go in to overdrive.

I saw online today that this is getting a PS5 Pro patch, think I get this to try out my shiny new toy :D

Just finished Stellar Blade - that was a solid 9.5/10 imo, a real easy game to pick up, and incredibly hard to put down!

Wasn't sold on the music, so had that turned off all game, and some of the sickly sweet anime-esq characters weren't to my taste, the gratuitous bum shots also got a few funny looks from the Wife lol

Will probably do the NG+ mode next.

Just started resident evil 4 remake again. I think this is like, one of those games I can play anytime and just straight up enjoy it every time.

I've put ridiculous time into it, must have been like seven playthroughs with various conditions. The structure really lends itself to challenge runs and it's just so enjoyable to play because of the formula and gameplay loop. Still one of the highlights of the generation IMO.

Yup. I agree! I think it’s one of those default / kick back and play games for me - like if I’ve had a **** day at work, or I’ve got not much else to play this is my go to. The weapon selection, the atmosphere/locations, the characters all fantastic. Looking forward to playing on the pro !

Yeah, my only gripe is that after getting the Plat, it really left quite a void and I want more RE :p Can't wait for Code Veronica Remake, probably won't be as ambitious in scope but it's still RE. I wish Capcom would remake Dino Crisis as well, would be absolutely amazing.
