Games you're playing, and games...

Been playing Balatro non stop today…got a question.

How come some cards don’t “activate”?

like the Mime card, had it twice now but it doesn’t do anything. And this last run the Baseball card didn’t kick it either….am I missing some special conditions to make these work? I don’t see any requirements.

Caved in and got Stellar Blade, quite an enjoyable gameplay loop tbh - I loved the demo, so this was going to be a purchase. Some dubious outfits mind you, better make sure the Wife doesn't catch me enabling they bikini style ones; probably get a sigh and head shake :D

Also picked up Still Wakes the Deep and the new Quiet Place - only played a few hours of the former, but it's petty good, love the setting and voice acting

Finished Silent Hill 2. A brilliant remake, not for everyone though - either you like the gameplay loop or you don't, it seems.

An unfortunate side effect of it was making me wish Capcom had got Bloober Team to remake Resi 3...

30 hours in, this is definitely my goty. The VA is excellent (aside one or two of the characters) the story never lets up either. Really enjoying it so far!

Edit. If any jrpg fans are on the fence..it’s definitely worth playing !

I think heismay is my favorite character so far :D his design is awesome
Tried the demo briefly. Used points to knock a tenner off. Bought!

Really enjoying Metaphor still feels like I'm on the home stretch.

There are an awful lot of similarities to Persona 5 though, despite people saying it's very different, I'd say not so much.

Better/more interesting world and story but otherwise shares a lot mechanics wise (social links, item/gear usage, time management/activities, RPG stats (5 stats like in P5 with 5 points max in each), a bit of a spin on the turn based combat but it's not massively different.

I do appreciate that we've left school though and actually gone out into the wider world!

I think I'll finish it this weekend as well, or at least it feels like it.

What other games do we have coming out this year that look interesting? Jrpg or otherwise!
With the exception of the Indiana Jones game ( in December ), nothing else left on my list for this year. Metaphor was the last noteworthy JRPG.

ps. Actually, there is the Dragon quest 3 HD remake in November, but I'm put off by the censorship for the artwork. Some are looking forward to the new Dragon Age game at the end of this month, but I'm not impressed by any of the trailers thus far.
