The real question is why such a small minority is able to commend such a huge influence, and why are they allowed to fundamentally change other peoples way of life?

“Pork has been banned from the menu at primary schools in a north London borough because it costs too much to monitor which children are allowed to eat it, a council has said. Islington Council has ruled that it is too expensive to check whether pupils in its primary schools can eat sausages, bacon and pork chops due to their religious beliefs.”

what? how on earth does it cost anything

"you want the sausages, they're pork?"

if kid says yes kid gets sausages how is that expensive?

It's plainly just an excuse

And it's also plainly (according to the article) not something the community asked for, but something the Council decided to do, based on their assessment of the cost implication of segregating the meals

Not saying I agree with their assessment, but it hardly seems the way you are portraying it

Because that's exactly how it would work....

There would have to be separate meals, administration of the meals with a monitoring of which child etc.

We have the same at one of the places I work and pre-school children, with allergies, and yes there is a time/cost element in monitoring which children can have what meal, though not an unduly onerous one....apart from having to get the allegen free food, that's ****** expensive!

So yea, it seems like a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut response by the council, but I can see why they think it's the easiest. But then you get plonkers like Rob who use it as 'evidence' that 'they' are taking over!!111

Are those populations of the percentage of children with religious affiliation or just people overall in Islington?, certain social groups due to recent immigration over time are less likely to be represented in the older age bands & over-represented within the younger ones.

The 10% overall may result in a higher than than 10% of children (making it potentially a larger portion they made the change for).

Oh Elmarko....now you've just left the door open for the "That just proves there (sic) taking over by outbreeding the natives" type of reply...

LOL, show's how well you read an article before jumping up with your outrage....it says that in the title of the news link :D

You do realise that doesn't make it any better? Labour is well renowned for trampling on everyone's rights for the sake of minorities. Just hope and pray my borough doesn't go Labour because we'll be culturally enriched by social engineering without our permission

I think that's a GD yellow card right there for using a Daily Mail link to back up your point :p

How far past the headline did you get this time?

I wonder where all the 'other' Muslims went....

No worse then The Guardian that many like to post here

Did you not get to the stats? Only 20% are in work, interesting that.
Also while they only make up 4.8% of the population they also make up 13% on the prison population. Huh!

I wonder where all the 'other' Muslims went....

Probably on the receiving end of a Jordanian missile :p

I think the daily mail is far worse than the guardian, and funnily enough if I ever buy a paper (Only when I travel) its the daily mail, as I like their puzzles section :p

Not really, since the whole point you were trying to make is there is a much higher % who are children, combined with the much higher % of women who are housewives, then obviously the overall % of people in work would be lower :p

Also while they only make up 4.8% of the population they also make up 13% on the prison population. Huh!

Since we are throwing in random statistics with no context then the armed forces make up 0.3% of the population and make up 10% of the prison population. Huh!

on the receiving end of a Jordanian missile :p

I don't remember many Jordanian missiles falling on the UK between the 2001 and 2011 census ;)

You do realise this is 2015 not 2010?

Damn, I miscalibrated my time machine again. I also appear to have entered a parallel universe. In the universe I thought I was in, the Liberal Democrats came a very poor third in the 2010 election and have therefore not been in power. They've had a small amount of influence over the party that has been in power, which of course is a completely different thing.

Think it would be better if you asked: I voted x and will vote y for the 3 mains parties and other and then 3 main + ukip and other, to give 20 options. That way you can compare it to a known quantity, as the current way has extreme bias. People who use these forums are generally more intelligent and therefor would less likely vote Green, Lib Dem or Labour.

Less likely? UKIP suddenly the vote of the intelligentsia now?
