**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

why ? I'm not convinced you've contacted the right person/area ? as I said Tech support goes somewhere completely different

Yeah, but i always like to have tech support agree that ther's a problem beforehand.
I'll RMA the card after your RMA goes through just incase it is a problem on our side.
If necessary, I'll just increase the voltage and call it quits :(

I don't think you'll get anywhere with that route - if you think its faulty RMA it

I'm pretty sure Gigabyte only charge NFF fees on 2nd RMA with NFF found - basically to stop people abusing their system - which is perfectly understandable

they pay for return postage as well

A single one tears through BC2, not sure why you'd need 2 unless you were running some massive res on multi monitors, or 3D.

Yes I know it does :) I have one and it does a very nice job indeed at 1920x1200 with all the trimmings! I was just interested to see how 2 perform. Whether they can match 580 GTX SLi performance. I haven't managed to find any results online..

Overclockers tested mine the day after they received it and I just received an email to say it is being replaced! So it looks like it was faulty after all. My replacement should arrive on Monday/Tuesday so I will keep everyone informed with test results.

Nice speedy turnaround from Overclockers!

Shame they censored my review and decided not to post it... I gave it a fair 3 stars for the stability problems, but looks like only five star reviews are making it onto the site...

Lucky!

I often wondered why pretty much every product on the site has close to 5 stars. Guess now i know :)

I will forgive them this time if the new card works as it should, I can understand that business is hard at the moment and the last thing they need is me slowing down the sales even more... Just don't ever let those 5 stars persuade you to part with your cash without reading full reviews on other sites first!

We do allow reviews on the site with small amount of stars. But what we don't allow is people giving a poor review because an item is faulty because thats not actually a review of the product as for obvious reasons if a product is faulty its not actually possible to give a fair review of it.

Getting faulty hardware is a way of life and will be replaced quickly. What we will happily accept is a review when its constructive about a product that is fully functioning.

So when you get a working car re-post your review and post your thoughts on what you think of a card that is working 110% and not one that is faulty. :)

fair enough

hi, i was looking for some advice concerning these cards.

i was thinking of upgrading my systems GPU's specs located in my signature, which consists of Triple-Sli 285's....

im i bit worried about all the fuss now going around about the very high heat and stability for a card i have read in loads of other review sites where its won a ton of awards and is stated as being very stable and cool at default settings?

originally going for the 590 which all the bad press has put me off for now and so looked at the 580...hence i noticed this offer...

..would buying 2 of these and still using one of my 285's as a physx work together fine? i game on 2 30" hazro monitors (just in case anyone asks)
or just wait for the 580 to lower some more?

...do the cards work okay in a pci-e v2 x16 reduced to 8x hence triple sli on my motherboard 16x/8x/8x or better do the cards need need more than a x8 for bandwidth reasons unlike a 285gtx which is below 8x and a 295gtx which was slightly over?

....hopefully my psu shouldnt be worked too much as currently it asks for around 980w (monitors excluded) but just in case is a 1250+watt sufficient for 2 cards and 285gtx working together? or even tri sli of these cards?

oh and does anyone know the vantage score for these cards in sli?

thanks in advance for the answers:D

mine had outer clear shrink wrap (like when you get when you buy a happy birthday card)

I think anyway - fairly sure but someone else can confirm

worrying mine didn't , and i was careful to lift it out of the static bag holding only the silver metal i/o shield part and noticed a thumb print on the heat sink which def aint mine.

I can't test the card at the min, but i'm gonna contact them and see what they say, i hope it's because they are testing the cards before they send them out now...

I called up OcUK and asked them what came in the box as i wanted a 6 to 8 pin adapter, The guy then went and got the box opened it up while on the phone and told me what was in there. Maybe this could be why if people ask questions they might just open it up and have a look

^^ yup could well be

mine had 2x Molex to 6 pin adapters

which seemed pretty pointless to me - as one of the power inputs is 8 pin ...

what they expect you to do with the other 6 pin adapater ? lol
