Golf Thread

Wanted to play yesterday but everyone dropped out, annoying. Playing Thursday or Friday with my dad though so not too bad! Need to get the driver re-gripped badly!

After emailing Gleneagles about the disappointing golfing experience 2 weeks ago, they have responded with various points we raised and as a concession, have agreed to let us play any of the Gleneagles courses again for the rate we previously paid (£201.40 for the 4 ball)

Pretty decent considering the summer prices are £600 for a tee time. Think we'll go for the Kings this time!

Managed a round of 93, quite happy with that considering it's only the second time I've played since Christmas.

It will be nice to get a round or two in after work now as the evenings are staying lighter for longer!

Playing with my dad tomorrow morning, looking forward to it as I have been steadily improving and also its time spent with the old man!

Playing first 9 holes after work this year tonight! Looking forward to it.

Also is anyone here a member on the SandTrap website (american)? Found it a few weeks and it has a lot of good tips and lots of pros on there to give advice

B.E.A.UTIFUL day for a round of golf took 13 shots off my last round, and the front 9 was terrible, I mean just awful.
71 front, 58 back. Basically tweaking my game as we went round. My club face had been far too open and I was standing at the ball at a weird angle. Last 4 holes were par bogey bogey bogey which I was more than happy with. Could have had a par on the last but lipped out.

Sun, Pint, dad, golf. Good day

Had a look but The Hackers Paradise (THP) is a much better website in my eyes

I aim to get out for another round with the old man on Sunday.. weather permitting!

need to sort out my driving, quite steady with the irons but teeing off with the driver is a little irratic! :p

I've never played Golf before and was looking at going to a driving range for a few hits with somoene.

Any recommendations? It's £3.50 for 45 balls and £1 for renting a club.

Do you still need to dress up, or is casual wear acceptable? The website seems very formal with a whole list of rules about dress code, but that seems to be for playing an actual game.

Having written that, I probably should just ring. :p

you can wear whatever you want down most public driving ranges. If you are going to a course that has their own driving range they may require you to dress "appropriately".

Tour 360 ATV

I've just upgraded from those to the new AdiZero shoes. I quite liked my ATV's, but the new shoes are so much lighter, the pair are the equivalent weight of one of my ATV shoes, fit like slippers too. Got a good deal on them as my local range price matched Direct Golf on a promo weekend so paid £85 for them.

Drive re-gripped......
WHAT
A
DIFFERENCE

I do not know why I waited so long, was very difficult to hold/grip now it is effortless. really nice :) May get the rest done over a few months, cant really take the hit for £90 on grips that I dont really need.
