Shot a decent 76 today (par 71) in windy/rainy conditions, did see the red arrows fly over the course heading to a local airshow too.

I got Fitted for my Driver and 3W over in Wentworth last year along with the guys from the Golf Monthly Mag, excellent day out and wouldnt change them for the world.
My kit wrapped in a Fazer Carrybag (matches the R11S colouring)

Taylormade R11S Driver 9 Deg RIP Phenom 60 stiff shaft, head set to 8.5 Deg neutral face.
Taylormade R11S TP 3Wood RIP 15.5 Deg Phenom 80 Stiff shaft, head set to 15 deg and neutral face.
Taylormade R11S 5Wood, RIP Phenom 70 Stiff shaft, Head Set to Standard and Neutral face.
Titleist AP2 3-PW New Dynamic Gold stiff S400 Sensicore Shafts fitted last month. I had Rifle 6.5s and S300s previously but prefer these heavier shafts.
Mizuno MP T series Raw Haze 53 Degree Wedge
MD 58 degree Superstrong wedge
Odyssey White hot 2ball Mallet putter.
Titleist ProV1 balls.

My irons are a few years old now so redid some of the paintfill, I decided to try red as they had been black and fancied a change.

Got my first birdie yesterday, chipped in, very happy! Also hit the flag with chips a further 2 times!

Putting is still so poor, Might try some other putters, I keep scuffing the tail of mine as I strike and it takes the power out of it.

got custom fitted for some Ping G20's this week.
According to their chart i was needing 1.5 upright but because of my swing the pro has left it as standard based on where i strike the base of the club.
So has said i'd be standard in club length and head but stiff shaft. Averaging 88mph on a 7 wood.

I'm currently using some hallway diablo edge irons with regular shaft and was reaching 135 - 145 yards but now reaching 150 - 165 yards with the ping.
I think the regular shaft was holding me back.

Also i went to a club fitting day at my local american golf today where titleist were there and they had me hitting some fairway woods/utilities. On their flight monitor and american golfs monitor my swing speed averaged 105mph with the utility and 112mph with a driver.
just wish i had some consistency to my game where those numbers helped me find the fairway a lot more.

mind you i'm playing off 18 so can only get better :)

just to add to others post i thought i'd do a whats in the bag:

Need to update it as i've since changed the driver/fairway wood in this photo.

Driver: RBZ Stage 1 - Stiff Shaft @ 11deg loft
Fairway Wood: None
Utility: RBZ Stage 1 - Regular Shaft 21deg loft
Irons: Callaway Diablo Edge - Regular Shaft - 4,5,6,7,8,9,PW,SW + AW
Lob Wedge: Cleveland RTX 588 - 58deg 12deg bounce
Putter: Something very old which needs upgrading
Balls: Taylormade TP5/TP3

Irons will soon be Ping G20's

My WITB 2013 is quite similar to Sukh. Essentially it's the same as my WITB 2012 bar the new Cleveland wedges :D

After 8 years of playing golf i'm finally 100% happy with my clubs, especially since they're all now custom fit.

How did you find the wedge fitting?

The wedge fitting was excellent, turned out I needed 2° flat!

Probably the best thing I've found with the 588 cavity backs is they're so much better with a full wedge shot over my old Vokeys, my consistency has noticeably improved on the 75-110 yard approaches.

I had mine fitted at the Stone driving range http://www.srixon.co.uk/centre-of-excellence-staffordshire

Do you find it harder to shape the ball with cavity backs over the typical blade wedge?

Are your irons 2 deg flat as well?

My irons are 1 degree flat. As for shaping a wedge I don't think there's ever been a time where I've needed to hit a full wedge with a fade or draw.

Good monthly medal for me this week. Knocked round in a net 71 with 2 8's finished fourth in div2 so took 15 quid and got cut. Captains day next weekend now off 17 been cut 2 shots in 2 months getting hard to adjust to

My swing has come along leaps and bounds recently after a couple of fundamental changes, distances are good, and feeling a lot consistency now. Spent a session on Sunday hitting 3 wood stingers , really fun shots to hit !

It's good when the drills work. If I'm at the range my drill is to play as if I'm at my local course. For example I imagine I'm on a 440 yard hole. I hit a drive, if it's on line hit an iron at a target 150 yards away from a fairway lie. If my drive is left or right then I'll play to a 175 yard target from a rough lie. If I miss the green then I play an appropriate chip shot.

I also had a lot of fun yesterday hitting drive off the deck. I'm thinking it may be a viable shot off the tee on a windy day. I really need to buy a 3 wood though. My irons are at Mizuno for a loft adjustment for another week so it'll be a while until I can hit the course :(

I do a similar thing on the range, its a really good drill to pretend you are playing a real hole and mix up your shots so you aren't aimlessly whacking the same club over and over.

The 3 wood to me has always been one of my favourite clubs, a few years back it was only marginally smaller head size than a driver and much safer off the tee, even now I can almost get close to my driver distance with my Ping G10 3 wood.

As for my irons, old Ping I3 Oversize 4 - SW, 11 years old and still look brand new - mind you I've been looking at the price of TM Burners at American Golf recently - very tempted :)

Never thought of that, so simple. added to the mental list!

A word of warning. If anyone is thinking about buying from www.golfstoreeurope.com. I ordered a new set of irons from them 1 month ago and no sign of them yet. Lots of complaints coming in from unhappy customers recently http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.golfstoreeurope.com.

Delivery in general seems very, very slow, and the customer service is very poor. I'm yet to get through on the phone and have tried dozens of times. They reply to emails but it takes 48hrs for a reply and they're normally empty promises and lies.

I'm getting a bit worried tbh as they have already taken my money. Not sure what to do really. They seem to be based in Derry, NI and so I really don't wanna have to fly over there.

wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole personally.

Get on the phone/email to them - then contact your credit card company and get money back via them.

Thanks for that!

I purchased using a debit card though, so don't think I have the same insurance as with a credit card?

get on to your bank and see what they can do. Also speak to local CAB.

If you paid a month ago - I would be seeking all avenues to get my money back.

Currently getting back into golf after 10+ years (when I was a wee lad).

Picked up some taylormade burner irons, and a 2007 taylor made burner driver, and cheap putter. They are serving me perfectly but, struggling with dreaded slice shot on the driver.

Tried changing a few things but, its still slicing horrible to the right. Anyone got any decent youtube vids?

Cheers
