Golf Thread

I had an horrific slice, turns out I was striking out to in so I just concentrated on keeping it straight on the path and my slice went almost instantly. If I really try and paste it then it goes out right but if I pace it properly then I get a straight flight path.

Currently getting back into golf after 10+ years (when I was a wee lad).

Picked up some taylormade burner irons, and a 2007 taylor made burner driver, and cheap putter. They are serving me perfectly but, struggling with dreaded slice shot on the driver.

Tried changing a few things but, its still slicing horrible to the right. Anyone got any decent youtube vids?

Cheers

hope this helps

^^

Mark Crossfields videos are very good and a must watch....

Another great read is to understand the Ball Flight Laws http://perfectgolfswingreview.net/ballflight.htm

When you understand why the ball moves the way it does it makes it is easier to fix your flight

Never really thought about that, kinda makes sense though. it may even help me to knock a few shots off my game! :)

Great saturday again for me.

Finished 4th in the captains day stableford with 40 points, won my self a nice new FJ shirt and another 1.2 shots off my exact so down to 16 now thats 3 shots cut in 8 weeks

It looks to me like a bag tag, they are mostly used by clubs to identify members but that looks like its related to the us pga so it might be worth a few quid to the right collector

Need some golf ball advice. I stopped playing for 18months or so when my son was really young, but now I'm getting into playing again. I used to use Nike Vapor balls - they were mid priced, reasonable distance, not too soft and I didn't feel like killing myself if I lost one. But as normally happens they don't make them anymore! (This also happened with the Callaway HX Blue).

So I need a replacement ball that's not a stupid price. The Nike One RZN are apparently the replacement but they are a bit too close to £30 for my liking (that was always Pro V1 territory). Any suggestions or ideas?

I'm more concerned with stopping it on the green rather than distance, so I don't want too hard a ball, but I'm not good enough for a Pro V1. Handicap is officially 16 but I've played anywhere from 11 - 19 this year. I'm not a fan of ebay so would like to avoid if poss.

Cheers

Edit: Just seen Srixion AD333 for £15 - they used to be the dogs - any thoughts on them now?

I use AD333's and can get pearl / A grade from the bay for £29.99 for 40 or American Golf sell them at £15.99 for 12. I find them very good for both flight and control around the green, I would recommend them for a High-Mid handicap player for sure.

If you want a ball like the prov but a bit cheaper I fully recommend givng the z stars a go be a bit spinny off the tee though so watch the slice or hook if you suffer badly
