Golf Thread

Ive watched it a few times since last night and it is hilarious, simply not committing to a back and through swing is killing his game.

Watching that makes me feel much better about my putting. Patients of a saint though, I think my ball would have been in the trees after 4 misses.

I liked the way they then play a clip of him making a 25ft put after that haha.

I do think Lowry has it in him but GMac for me is a no go!

We got a £5 per team at our local club. Got to choose 1 out of the top 10 and then 3 others from 3 different brackets. All 4 rounds added together and the lowest team wins. If they don't make the cut then their score is double to make up the last 2 rounds. I put 2 teams in there. One with McIlroy and one with Day. The others selected were Louis.O, Mickelson, Peircy, Kevin Na, Hoffman and Grillo. Cant remember who out of them were in a team together though. However none of them shot over par on the first day!

Wheels came off a little bit for Spieth at the end of the 3rd round, he's still up by one but it was 4 coming into the last 2.

I'm glad Spieth had a bit of a wobble, it makes the final day a lot more interesting. Rory reckons he's still in touch at +2 but I think five shots is probably too much to catch up unless he has an absolute blinder and the rest of the field struggles again. I wouldn't put it past him, but it will be tough. I think Day and D.Johnson are in a good position, only three shots back from Spieth.

I'm hoping Spieth doesn't win, he has the same effect for me as Djokovic does in tennis. I appreciate that both are superb sportsmen in their respective field but I find them both a bit boring compared to their rivals.

Spieth is going to be the Woods of this decade. He's going to be so hard to beat. I don't usually like to see one person dominate but I make an exception for Djokovic - he works so hard and deserves it

It's just about confidence. I used to be a 6. I'm probably not good enough these days to use blades but I aspire to be. My second set is MP52's but the 68's are just so much more satisfying.

Blades are about strike not about handicap..

I bought some MP33s off a forum member and truth be told, they're far too good for me who is a 20+ handicapper. However they're extremely rewarding to play with when you hit it from the middle and I love the challenge of having to strike it properly.

For some reason every other iron I hit comes off the toe.

This is great. Only half an hour ago, Spieth was a runaway express with -7 and I was disappointed that there was nothing competitive going on leading into the final holes. It's all changed for the good now though.
