I watched this, plus his other video on correct grip.

But I think most of it is a mental thing, just put the bad ones out of your mind and remember that you can easily hole it by looking at the back of the cup.

I subscribed to Clemshaws vids quite a while ago, some great stuff on there from him, really worth watching especially if you're having problems with specific areas of your game.

Thanks for the link to the Clement vids, he seems a very good instructor. Gives his lessons in a very easy to understand format. Great :)

Got a lesson tomorrow to try and sort out my slicing and swing.

I hope it works because its really getting to me now, im at the stage where i finish work at 12 today - one of my friends wants to play at 2.... and im just abit 'meh' :( :( :(

Go anyway and leave all the long clubs at home and just use your 6i upwards get some chiping and putting practice in!

Off for a game at Royal Troon this afternoon - going to play of the "tiger" tees!!!

7175 yards!!!! Should be fun!!! (note to self to get another dozen balls in the bag before setting off!)

I think im going to go, i have a hangover at the moment and it might help.

Even in chipping it goes slightly right lol. When 'chipping' on with a 7iron etc, with a slightly open stance, should you hold the club lower down the grip for more control? If just off the green i use the 7iron like a putter but hold the club down the handle. Is this right?

Yep, but you should only go towards a 7 iron when you are slightly farther away from the green, as it will have a lower flight and roll a lot. PW will travel higher and roll less.

i've got a trip to the forest of arden this weekend with a few mates. got 2 rounds, 1 on the aylesford on sunday then another on the big one - the arden course! anyone been? what's it like?

i'd also be up for a OCUK golf society thing - would be fun :)

Both good courses, I played them a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. The Arden is a lovely course and the 18th is lovely.

When should i use a PW/7i

I've been using a 7i when about 5/6ft from the green.

Oh and about the PW rolling less....PFT yea right, maby it will for me one day:p

It really depends on preference and conditions of the course your playing on. Very very rarely will i ever use a 7i around the greens for chipping (bumping and running) as its usually quite hard and fast where i play. You need to choose the right club that suits you, there is no right and wrong answer. Personally my distance control on 10-15 yard chips is fairly decent with my SW but completely woeful with an 8i.

If your 5/6ft off the green and if still hitting your chips to the right, i would hazzard a guess that when you take your club back, your rolling your wrists open and not closing them before impact leaving the face open and hitting them out to the right slightly. Your lesson will hopefully give you more of an insight though :)

No new clubs for me today :(

Americangolf didn't have the Driver in stock and didn't bother not list it on their site as awaiting delivery and had no notification that it was out of/awaiting stock :(

Looks like its a Tuesday delivery now!

Thought I would post a few pictues of what I got in the post this week :)

Went to the range and it felt pretty good, could hit around 100 yards with it, which seemed OK to me. Haven't played out of the sand yet as it was raining and didn't want to go in the short game area.

I went to American Golf to have a look, and I chose it there, but it was £70, which was £10 off retail. I went home to see if I could see it any cheaper and found it for £43 delivered so did it that way :D

Ooh good call mate! hehe any good places with good beginner/less advance clubs for good prices? American Golf seems good, wasn't sure if there was many other sites that go that low, price wise?

I would say this is for intermediates onwards, would go for the cavity back wedges for beginners, but as with everything it is just looking everywhere for what you want. I got this from county golf on clearance, accordingly they only had certain lofts.

To be honest, I was unsure about which to get, but after trying some of the cavity wedge, they felt clumsy and bulky, much prefer this.
