Been looking at getting the R10 as I think I mentioned but it seems a bit weird, my local shop has them but back up to £529, pretty sure they were £469 a month or so ago, but also the only other place I can find with stock is Hotgolf at £449, seems weird how many places don't seem to have stock? I wonder if Garmin are prepping a replacement but not heard any rumours?
Anyway, had a lesson today, wasn't really planning to but went over recent golf games and how I felt I had an issue with picking a club based on 'familiarity' if that makes sense. So first bit I really noticed was on Friday I was picking my hybrid just by default for fairway shots when my 5 wood should be the pick there, but then again on Sunday even with my amazing front 9 anything <95-100 yards ish I'm picking the pitching wedge, even though I've got a set of wedges in 52, 56 and 60-degree which would be better options but my familiarity with the PW just leads to me picking it but then I've got gaps where I'm not great, like 30 yards I've got nailed but 40 yards I'm likely to end up short
So we went over wedge play and a whole different setup... Basically he had me with my stance 'open' (e.g. left) of target, narrower feet, weight over the front, fair bit of shaft lean, it was on a mat but basically aiming quite downwards into the mat after the ball (obviously). It felt a bit odd but the results were great really, felt really comfortable hitting shots, all 3 wedges were working, nice clean hits and giving reasonable distances but also controllable. Even moving the ball in the stance and/or opening the face to change the flight... Obviously needs a whole bunch of practice but felt really good, almost like a revelation for the short game
