Cold (numb) hands absolutely kills me when I'm playing.

Played the Celtic Manor: Montgomery course today.
Windy, wet and about 4C.

Course wasn't in very good condition, very very boggy, although greens were great. Every ball plugged today, so basically no rollout on any clubs, including driver.

Shot a 48 going out, 40 coming in (par69)

Hands were numb after the first hole (first and only par on the front 9)
Warmed up a bit by the time we got to the back 9.
Then back 9, started off with 5 pars in a row, I was pleased to have par'd the 570y par 5 - into the wind! driver, 4h, 7i, 2 putt. Basically text book

Just wish the weather was warmer and I could have started the front 9 in slightly warmer conditions. :(
2x sausage rolls at the end of front 9, £7 :D Worth it though, filled me up and warmed my hands!
that's such a shame to experience a stunning course in awful condition :(
Try again in the summer. It's my favourite course at Celtic Manor. Some stunning holes. Par 5 12th being one obviously.
I also like the 1st. Aim 45deg left over the trees. 210y 4H leaves a lovely 9i into the green

Sure it'll be much better in Summer but also ends up way more expensive, looks like £80-100 basically?

The 12th is utterly stunning though... and can see a bit of course knowledge would be great on some holes, like the first as you mention :p

Just ordered the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro.

went for hotgolf pre order, and as it’s my first purchase from there actual store, I got my 5% off :D I mean, £35 saving nothing to be sniffed at!

if anyone is considering one, go quick, they are selling like hotcakes atm!

The 12th surely was a memorable one for me!

For the first hole though, my 240y drive, drew down the left side, about 30y short of the water. Left me a nice 8i onto the middle of the green - I was never going to leave it short, especially in those pluggy conditions!

I'm hoping for a long dry summer, since I'm making a mental note of all of the good courses in the South Wales area, especially the ones I want to go back to. Some of my golf buddies like to play Celtic Manor, so I'll be sure to go again.

Yeah I'd only go and play when it's part of a package deal. 8 of us go each year. Play all three courses, dinner bed and breakfast at The Coldra Court £300.

I've had to take some of the 2010 bag tags off mine as they rattle quite loudly on the course

hitting a shot like that on the first is always satisfying :D

Right, serious business afoot. Ordered one of the newer Great Big Bertha Drivers and a 3 Wood to replace my Ping G series that split.

Thought the damage to the wallet was done but went to check my ball stock and realized my 54 degree has gone... rang the range just incase I'd left it in a bay, nope. Just gone... Will have to FB marketplace that particular issue.

Off to the range Friday to start fixing this damn long club problem.

hmm..I cant seem to find anywhere that sells the "Callaway RPT Chrome Soft X Balls"..

Does anyone think that buying then standard balls, and using a sharpie and draw on the black dots would work??

Serious question though!

It comes with a sleeve doesn't it? I'd imagine stuff like that will take a while to come through to general availability, but also yeah a sharpie and the correct dot pattern would almost certainly work fine...

yeah, it does mate. i was just hoping to have a barrage of balls to hit!

might try it with a sharpie, also without and see how much of a difference in accuracy there is.

I have dusted off the clubs and I've stepped in to fill a spot for a "tournament" amongst mates on Sunday. 9 holes, lunch then 18 holes.

Went to the range yesterday and as always hit a mixture of solid shots I'd be happy with and plenty I wouldn't. Ive already got the bug and spent my day scrolling through pages of new clubs and equipment :D

I am using some ancient Mizuno MX17 irons at the minute.

If I was to look for an upgrade, say £250-300 for irons. There is a ton of places that sell second hand sets but it's a minefield of choices, anyone here able to recommend a particular set in this price range?

I know I need to fix my game first so looking at getting some lessons but a nice "new" set of clubs always makes you feel good!

Have a look at Wilson staff D7 forged.

Great value for money and very forgiving clubs. I have had them before and currently use the D9 w/s and highly rate them.

Thank you for the recommendation. There is a set on the bay, Wilson Staff D7 Forged Irons / 6-PW / Regular Flex KBS Tour 110 Shafts. Very tempting with a 20% off at the minute as well!

Can you not use Titleist RCT balls with your unit? I was using them today on trackman indoors

you've left the by the green

Did this one pop up on anyone else's youtube feed the past couple of days? Look absolutely stunning but I don't think I've ever seen a top line so slim  Hate to imagine what a miss hit feels like!

Not a proud one today at all. Walked off after 4...

Decided I'm not going back to a course until I can perform better of the tee. Bored of having nothing to fall back on and needing to save catastrophic tee shots just to tie a decent score together. I'd have broken 50 months ago if it weren't for this.

Back to lessons and the range until mid to late spring I think. Hopefully be in a better place by then.

I've not touched my driver on a course since January. I'm teeing with a 4 or 5 iron. Far better control on 2nd shots. I'm better with a driver on the range but I cannot rely on it the way I do with my irons. I'm about to start lessons.
