that's such a shame to experience a stunning course in awful conditionCold (numb) hands absolutely kills me when I'm playing.
Played the Celtic Manor: Montgomery course today.
Windy, wet and about 4C.
Course wasn't in very good condition, very very boggy, although greens were great. Every ball plugged today, so basically no rollout on any clubs, including driver.
Shot a 48 going out, 40 coming in (par69)
Hands were numb after the first hole (first and only par on the front 9)
Warmed up a bit by the time we got to the back 9.
Then back 9, started off with 5 pars in a row, I was pleased to have par'd the 570y par 5 - into the wind! driver, 4h, 7i, 2 putt. Basically text book
Just wish the weather was warmer and I could have started the front 9 in slightly warmer conditions.
2x sausage rolls at the end of front 9, £7 Worth it though, filled me up and warmed my hands!
Try again in the summer. It's my favourite course at Celtic Manor. Some stunning holes. Par 5 12th being one obviously.
I also like the 1st. Aim 45deg left over the trees. 210y 4H leaves a lovely 9i into the green
