Many different shots can be played around the greens.
The bog standard chip i'd advise is take your SW or 60 if you have one. Address the ball with it in the middle of your stance, push your hands forward about 2 inches to get ahead of the ball. Without breaking your wrists, turn your whole torso arms and shoulders in one movement away as a unit until your club is around parallel to the ground (further or shorter depending on length of chip), to initiate the downswing; turn everything in one movement, trying to bring everything through in one motion, act as if your trying to hit the ball with your chest, the arms will follow with the club and you should just clip the ball off the fairway/rough.
Remember to keep your eyes fully on the ball and not to move your head around. Look for the ball about a full second or two after its left the clubface. Biggest mistake with this shot is usually breaking your wrists and flipping it up into the air, creating fats and thins. If you want to hit a bump and run type of shot, exact same technique, but take an 8i or similar, ball back in the stance and don't hit it as hard as it will shoot out.
When the ground gets wet make sure to open your clubface up so that it doesn't dig into the ground else you'll fat everything. Hopefully you shouldn't have to worry to much about that now considering were reaching summer
Any questions about what i've just said don't be afraid to ask.
