Doubles victory tonight... into the final.

2&1.... Mate played very well, dragged me through it. It's alternate shots so can be hard to play/get going at times but we got the job done. I wasn't particularly great but a win is a win.

Only ended up hitting 3w twice tonight - 1st was ok ish, 2nd was nuked - so nice to see a higher flighted ball....

On to tomorrow for a single semi final giving away 23 shots!!

Out for the roll-up this afternoon, thought after two morning rounds and even hitting a few balls on the range beforehand I might actually manage a reasonable round but nope...

Completely forgot how to hit the ball for the first ~4 holes. Two pickups, a double bogey and actually a semi-ok bogey on the 3rd gave me 3 points in 4 holes.

Got 12 points in the last 5 though, 3 pars a bogey and a double.

So ended fine but those first 4 holes were just awful and it still surprises me every time I forget how to swing a club :p

Knackered..... But another semi final victory...

Giving away 23 shots off yellow tees.

Was 2 down at halfway..... And I had to par 5th/6th/7th/8th & 9th holes just to hang on to that!

My back nine was

3/4/6/4/3/5/4/3 and he still took it up the 18th.... I was one up, but he put it in the bunkers at the top of the hill and could get out in 3/4 shots...

Didn't play that well myself but a win is a win....2up and into the final.

First round in 7 weeks today after tearing my bicep, possibly slightly premature but will see if there's any reaction tomorrow (fingers crossed!)

So I went out today in the medal with zero expectations. I figured a nice to have would have been completing 14 holes, even better would have been to break 90. Signed off for a 78 (-1 nett), totally buzzing as I've really missed it these last few weeks.

Decided to head out for a rare Saturday round today, also rare to play 18 at my local :p

Played pretty solidly overall, two blow up holes really with both being 4 putts, not good. Kinda weird though as my putting in general was decent really so 36 putts total with 8 of them on the 2 bad holes...

92 gross, adjusted to 89 thanks to the second blow-up hole being an 11! Best adjusted score I've had around there so happy with that.

Carried as well, been back to carrying for 9 holes like yesterdays roll-up as my elbow is feeling a lot better but first time carrying for 18 so be interesting to see how my elbow feels tomorrow.

2 rounds back-to-back again tomorrow, good times :D

Can I join the club? Swing went absent without leave this morning.
Sure!

Last two rounds I’ve started well on the first, and I think this is it, I’m on for a good one. And then it collapses - yesterday I started with a bogey despite being on the green for 2 and then 3 putted which I was fine with. Then onto the second I put myself down for a 10 with 2 lost balls!

Polar opposite to me, I am carrying a slight shoulder injury at the moment and I can only play well once the painkillers and ibuprofen have kicked in! Yesterday that was about the 7th hole. Before that I was a write off.

shot 80 today, played quite well but still enough rubbish to see room for improvement. This is on a Par 66 just so the 80 doesn't sound overly impressive. However, on the 7th, which was playing downwind 240 to the pin I hit my 5 wood both times I'd played as sweet as you could hope and hit it to 8 ft both times, one was 8 ft past and the other was 8ft to the left of the pin. Made birdie on both attempts. Think it's the first time I've ever had a putt for eagle, never mind two in a round. Wasn't bothered about missing the putts, just glad I didn't 3 putt and got 2 birdies in a round (another first I think).

First eagle putt was a little right to left but left it on the high side. 2nd attempt was a nasty downhill right to left so made sure I didn't knock it 8 ft past.

Played 9 on the same course a couple of days back and shot 50, shot 40 on both times round today. Funny old game. As there was no-one behind me took time to walk along the rough and take a look in the bushes, think I found about 5 or 6 decent balls. All in all, a pretty good day.

Absolutely atrocious again today. Nearly saved my round on the back nine (didn't deserve to) until putting my tee shot in the water on the 17th and making a tripple. Too my amazement it will still be sufficient to knock .25 off my index  Putting the only plus point at the moment.

I really don't understand it, was hitting it great on the range mid week then get to the weekend and ........

Out for two rounds today, ended up generally very scruffy really, nothing that bad but scruffy. Shot 94 and 92 (harder course first), ~6 months or so ago I'd be happy with both those scores so that's kinda nice to feel bad about them.

Not really gone over the rounds in Garmin to pick out anything beyond that yet but I'll get to that fun tomorrow :)

On the second round we got caught out by a thunderstorm, wasn't really expecting it, there was a warning but not actually anything on the forecast, but yeah. Didn't really take much/enough wet weather stuff so got thoroughly drenched and worst bit was not being able to grip the club, not really had that before, at least not that bad, and of course left my rain gloves at home. Ended up 'learning' to club up a bunch and swing so smoothly to avoid it slipping, that and actually no glove seemed better really.

The guys I was playing with got a bit concerned when the lightning started though... But we all survived :p

Get yourself a coffee and 30 minutes..... This is a fabulous watch for the golf geeks.....

Would pay a lot of money to have something like this done...

JD Golf Academy does some of this.
Not necessarily all the TPI Body measurements, but the force plates and 3d analysis with the suit.
It's £250 for a 2 hour lesson using it all, definitely worth doing, I've done it and it was amazing - not quite as good as this video, but definitely good!

On a side note, went out and shot my best score at my home course off the yellows - 76
Didn't feel like I hit the ball very well off the tee, but recovered well every time.

1st - missed birdie by an inch
2nd - lipped out my birdie chance
3rd - silly 3 putt
4th - got a lucky birdie, after chipping from behind a tree after my drive
5th - topped my approach and made a mess of it.
6-9 - got up and down with my new chipping technique
14th - horrible lay in the rough, couldn't get good contact with hybrid and put myself in a terrible position of the next shot
15th - bad drive sprayed right, had to lay up on approach and left my 3rd short of the green.
18th - sprayed it right off the tee again, but hit the flag with my approach and it landed 10ft from the pin

I think the cold weather is helping make the course easier too, slower and less firm greens, giving me control.
Didn't put a card in though, so won't affect handicap. Just hope I can replicate it in the comps.

Got back yesterday afternoon from a 2 day break to St Mellion. A really lovely pair of courses the Kernow and the Nicklaus. Both have exceptional views and played really well. I'm glad I did the Kernow first as it was a great course to get used to ready for the Nicklaus. The Nicklaus was a real test of golf, you had to play what you see rather than try to overpower the course. I would highly recommend it, I'd certainly go again.

Nice, St Mellion isn't a million miles from me and considered it a few times for golf breaks, maybe next year... :)
