Golf Thread

Played in the RNLI trophy today, a stableford singles comp.
I came in first with 41 points only to be told later on that i can't win because my handicap is inactive !!@@!!
Gutted tbh.
Oh, it was a board comp too btw ...... boohoo :(

one of the biggest faults of my game is a poor shoulder turn. A big full shoulder turn on the way back and end up releasing thru the ball to end up with your belt buckle facing your target is what I should be doing!!!
 
Played Marianske Lazne on saturday afternoon. Played pairs stableford and went round in 36 points. Got increasingly difficult on the latter holes as our eyesight wsa getting affected....... by the amount of beer we were drinking whilst playing indoor golf!! :D Far better than getting rained on! haha.

That was basically my first lesson and what a game changer for me.

Playing this afternoon, hope the trend continues.
 
Yep, well done Rory, played a cracking final round, considering the pressure Tiger applied :eek:

Should be great to watch things develop over the next few tournaments with Tiger looking back to his best, Lee playing so steadily, Luke will want his number 1 spot back, and Rory sure aint going to let it slip without a fight!!!

Roll on the Masters, would love to see Rory put the demons behind him with a win there :)
 
Out of interest, which ball do you guys use? Personally, I use the Srixon AD333.

Enjoyed another round today, but although my putting felt good I scored around 44 on the round. I know that if I can improve my chip and runs around the green my putting score will improve... One consolation is that I appear to have overcome my slicing woes :D
 
Pro v's for me.

I still haven't found anything that comes close to the feel of a pro v ball. Distance wise it's also as good as any.

In the winter I have used AD333's but 95% of the time it's pro v all the way.

keep your eyes on ebay for pro v's. I got 24 last year for £30 which were as good as brand new. One hit wonders. No marks, cuts or scrapes etc. Mint condition which you couldn't tell against brand new box ones.
 
Just got my first set of clubs, Wilson deep red irons, my only experience is top golf and a few nights down the range...I may need a lesson or two!

Where do you play? I am from Weston-super-Mare as well and will be rejoining up Worlebury in April after a 8 month layoff due to injury. I was a 6 handicapper but need to recover my game and quickly lol.

** Normally use AD333's or lately the Nike PDsoft.
 
New Nike VR Limited Edition 3 Wood has turned up finally replaced my ageing Taylormade V Steel
