Gran Turismo 7

You can now see how close you are to the next DR rank, i'm almost at A (about 90-95% along the bar), i doubt i'm fast enough to keep up with them though. It looks like the Sport mode time trial updates every 2 weeks, so that might be ok, GR3 on the first one.

Ha, I checked yesterday and I'm scrapping the bottom of the 'B' barrel. Now you can see progress to a point hopefully it'll encourage me to do more online races.

Gave a few online races a go last night - got punted on the Daily Red Bull race in the Golf, went from 2nd down to 4th and never managed to get back, bit pants of the German guy who hit me. Also, the penalty system is dreadful - the forced slowdown is idiotic, gave the Monza race a go and picked up a 0.0500 penalty for cutting a kerb. Rather than tack the penalty onto my final time, the game decides to slow me down on the straight before the last turn; and rather than slightly limit me, I go from flowing along at full pelt in 6th, to then dropping all my revs and having the drop down gears rapidly to get momentum back!

Thinking about getting GT7 and interested in the Time Trials. Can you tune and customise to compete in these TT also do you need PSN Plus to use this feature?

The Monza penalties are brutal on that straight. Even to recover from 0.500 kills your speed all the way down the straight and you are toast to anything that was miles behind you. It is frustrating at times but I still love the online races. If I get punted off I just shrug it off and get back on it. 50/50’s on this track almost always end in tears but it’s all good as far as I’m concerned.

Saw a post on the Twitter before, they are going to be testing some lobbies that don't impact your DR/SR in anyway so you can just race for the fun of it. Guessing these lobbies will be wild but could be good for switching off.

DR/SR Driver and skill rating?
Driver and Sportsmanship. Win races and you DR will go higher putting you with people of a similar rank and speed. SR is how you behave - knock people off the track and it will reduce. Keep it clean and it’ll go up. S rank is the highest tier for both. I read that it starts at E, D, C, B, A, A+ (no A+ in SR) and S. Cant prove it though because I’ve always been in D and C :p

Started 6th Monza just now omg got smacked at the chicane ended up last then fought my way back up to 6th felt amazing. Must be Friday night the rammers are out in force tonight.

Seems this new update has destroyed force feedback in Fanatec wheels, don't know if this and affects others. Will done PD

They've turned down the feedback temporarily due to violent vibrations that could cause injuries.

Any advice for kei car on autodrome best iv managed is 5th

I used a the new Honda S660 with aero and IIRC handling mods with power mods to take it up to the pp400. Lose time on the straights but make it up easy around the corners. I could do 1:01 laps at Maggiore. Used the same car for the 3 races and easily won them all.

I’m away today but can post my exact setup tomorrow.

Am I imagining it - Im sure in the original "Cafe" races , from within the cafe it would automatically take you to each race, but now you have to back out of it to the main menu and manually find each race in "world Circuits" and drill down manually to each region etc?

I did the VGT races very easily last night going to try the S660 now (I ended up buying both a S660 and a Cappucino before realising the above, thinking I had the wrong year of the S660 to start with lol)

Ive now completed every offline race in 1st apart from one - really horrendous Asia Pacific race (I think its Tokyo Expressway if my memory serves) with three or 4 chilis , really horrendous penalties for hitting a barrier - I think this appears to be the ONLY (offline) race that has such bad penalties ......Im not sure I even recall any with so many chillis even though the ranking goes up to 5) , just struggling to find a car thats competitive for more than 2- 3 laps before either the fuel has gone or the tyres.

Even majority of 700/ 800 races are easier than this 600 rated one (and still not sure how with a highest rated pp for that race another car can still out accelerate / easily move away from you on similar tyres etc, just doesnt make logical sense to me)

mini rant over :)
