If I need to brake hard I use the standard brake and handbrake at the same time, seems to work better, you'll get used to it though, even using the standard brake I don't tend to bumper many cars, just don't tail any cars to closely, kind of like in real life, you just won't be able to brake in time.

It seems to vary depending on car and weather. Generally I find it ok but in the wet it gets a little hairy.

Or maybe your pads need replacing (?) :D
 
I've got the hang of it now I think - unlike the previous GTA games you cant drive everywhere with your finger on the accelerator hard down.

I think I found one, although didn't realise exectly what they were.

Hint: They have the same red glow round them like weapons. One is on the statue near the big world globe.

Some people just like throwing tantrums when you tell them their treasured game isn't perfect.
 
Wow, the physics engine really is impressive. I punched some guy who was standing infront of a bench and he fell backwards and sat on it, he got up and attempted to run away but i punched him again and he fell against the wall realistically. Wasn't expecting it to be quite like this.
 
The game seems pretty good, nothing that was hyped. Ive just been doing the missions, i think ill just have an hour of just killing ppl for a while and thats it for one night.

great story
good music

cons
bad driving controls
bland city

But i think i cant give a proper opinion until ive played it a lot more.
 
I am loving the driving controls/handling/damage.

And, once again, I LOVE EUPHORIA.

Decided to pick GTA4 up this morning...popped into the high st retailer where i work and was surprised to see that they had quite a few copies for sale...not only that there was a pretty big que of people who either had the 360 version or PS3 version.

Anyways had a quick play with it and it seems pretty good, a bit like Saints Row but better i think. The gfx are amazing on it although ive noticed a bit of a framerate issue...kinda slows down in certain areas but then ive got used to that with the games ive played in the past.

I take it mission wise, they just come as you play the game??. Already done 3 missions and failed one which i dont know which one it was i failed...checked through the stats and it didnt say anything about which mission i failed.

Quite a cool game though, i like that Roman dude...makes me laugh with his chat.
 
You got to play this with subtitles on if you want to understand what some ppl are saying. The main character speaks his language sometimes along with romeo, it adds realism them speaking russian (russian right?)

Is any game perfect? I wasn't expecting that GTA IV would be anything more than it is tbh, I think that some people were expecting GoW like graphics which just isn't possible for a game like GTA with this gen of consoles - IMO ;)

Anyone tried the ZiT texting service to find out what track is playing on the radio? Really handy so far - just dial 948 555 0100 from your mobile and you get a text telling you what the artist and title is... cool!
