*** Grand Theft Auto IV - MODS & TWEAKS ***

Can't help with saves as I haven't made one yet :D

Vet, is it necessary to install Viva New York and flashing lights or just the latter?
 
Does anyone have a link to download GTA_IV_Road_Textures_by_Fonias as every where I try wants to download something else or register or NOD32 blocks the site.
 
I'm also having problems, mainly with performance.

I'm on the 1.0.4.0 version, with nothing but iCEnhancer 2.1, and then trying L3EVO's ENB installed, and the game runs terribly.

I've tried all the commandline stuff but nothing helps. I'm on a i7 3740QM 2.7Ghz, 16Gb RAM, 680m 4GB.

I've tried loads of different graphics settings but the game just runs terribly, and when I try to turn, cars don't actually turn for about half a second after I pressed the button. I'm close to giving up.

I can run the game max settings and get completely smooth performance, so I don't understand why others can add ENB and have no issues, but mine runs like a dog!

Don't L3vo's and icenhancer do the same thing? I use L3vo on mine on a high spec, but not as high spec machine, and it runs well, with gfx card at about 75C :)

Also, I think icenhacer seesm to render at some mentally high resolution then scales down to 1080p/your chosen resolution, which could explain things.

Maybe its a tad late & i misunderstood :D

Very strange though, I'm on an I5 3580K, 16GB RAM, 560TI 1GB, and have no issues, very very occasional slowdown in absolutely huge happenings, maybe 2-3 over all of the game.
 
I'm running 1.0.7.0 where the performance seems much much better. Doesn't look quite as good as 1.0.4.0 but I've got a few tweaks on there which are decent.

I'll come back with instructions tonight if anyone is interested.

Which car pack is that you are using? I've been looking for a good, high quality looking pack, but with normal everyday cars and a few supercars etc.. at the top end (The 458 Italia is one I'd like to ideally get in there!)

Has anyone actually got GTA 4 with a fairly large realistic car mod and ICEnhancer working without issues? I've got the Realistic Car Pack 10 and IcEnhancer, and I have tried a number of different traffic flow mods to stop the taxi bug, however the game is now littered with texture pop ups.

All the vids of people using these mods on youtube are generally just sitting in the airport spawning and showing off the cars, not actual driving around doing missions etc so I can't tell if anyone has a completely working solution (also my pc spec is in my sig, I have more than enough power and vram to run this compared to other people)

Also, does anyone get the random 'GTA 4 has stopped working' crashes?

I eventually removed the realistic car pack and went back to using LCPD First Response mod, but it just randomly crashes to desktop with the above message every now and then.

I love PC gaming and being able to use mods, but GOD DAMN PC gaming can be frustrating :eek:

I'm planning on doing a fresh install of this myself this evening, following this plan :)

Install GTA IV (no Episodes from Liberty City)
Patch to 1.0.4.0
L3EVO GP BEST(8-7) with Trees Textures Mod 1.2
Ultimate Textures 2.0
Ultimate Vehicle Pack 10 or City Cars Mod Pack v1.3 (undecided on which to use yet, any advice?)
Realistic Driving and Flying 1.3
RealizmIV v6.2
Weapon Realism Mod
No Intro Logos
And the generic commandline mod at the beginning of this thread as well.

Anything obvious that I've missed at all or am doubling up on anything I shouldn't be?

I am also very interested in a guide of everything you mentioned, please.

I've tried ICEnhancer and 1.0.4.0 patch. Followed everything in the guide i had but it just didn't work out...

So from what you mentioned sounds perfect. Not after amazing graphics (a little boost would be nice) Something that works on the latest patch and extra cars :)

And by the way. Will what you have running work with the Steam version? Thanks in advance for anything you can help some us out here ;)
