Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

How can they send 2 gtx 460 cards when they are not even sure the customer can run SLI. Very wrong in my opinion... GTX 580 is very nice replacement, considering they could've sent a GTX 570 as that is more on the same level...
True, what I was just trying to put across is that waiting one month and receiving a card that could be sold making £200 profit over the price paid for the GTX 480SOC in the process makes up for the one month wait.

I bet other manufacturers would have replaced it with something with less value.

Well, certain EVGA cards come out quite well, and Zotac have to be applauded for having a UK based technical support line... which I actually used the other day, and my call was answered immediately by a very helpful guy.

Having just bought an MSI card, I am quite happy with their options also.

Well, time to see how long HIS take then.

6950 corrupted to heck, OCUK are sending it for repair/replacement :(

I'll have to make do with my mini computer and its 6750 til then. And put up with the noise -_-

Should be stickied, I think there should be a go to returns post for each section so people can search through to see if other people are/have had issues with certain companies and returns.

Ugh sorry mate missed that ! I will explain it however for the good of the thread.

It cost me £17.10 Royal Mail signed for and insured.

Basically RM are odd. You can either track it all the way but not require a signature or you can track it up until the point it leaves the UK and that's it, but get a signature

I opted for the latter. They don't refund the cost of sending it out to the Netherlands no, but they send it back overnight UPS which was cool.

They were very quick however, turnaround was less than a week which was awesome because according to the buzz going around the net they were taking ages due to being so busy.

They replied usually same day with my questions, and they were kind and polite.
How did you get in touch with them? I posted an online service query on tuesday and have yet to hear back :(.

Edit: Cheers Andy.

Very good thread.

Feeling slightly more relaxed about my Asus 480, after reading the failure rate post on 480s and Asus in general. Seems like if it does go wrong, I'm going to have to be nagging OcUK about EU law though....

Saying that I did have a minor issue with it overheating last night I think. Windows switched down from Aero, then the screens completely disabled.... Presuming/hoping this was just a software glitch or something, and the card is still fine as I haven't had any other problems.

As for the guy who got the 480SOC replaced by a 580, I think that makes sense. If they were going to replace my 480 as it is now EOL, I'd be telling them a standard 570 wasn't acceptable as it only has 1280mbVRAM, compared to the 1.5GB the 480 has, which can make a difference at higher resolutions. I'd be happy to take a 2GB 570 mind. Also, because it is a SOC edition, I'd imagine that performance is closer to a 580 than a 570 anyway...

Oh and also....
GET THIS STICKIED!

From memory..

First I sent them a web note. But it ended up in Malaysia. Then I spent hours looking for a phone number and finally found an 0871 number (free on Talktalk) and then the guy finally handed over the support email address for The NL.

Send me a trust and I'll fire it over via email.
