Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

Sometimes I think there are some manufacturers who have no idea how much they can actually boost sales by having good customer service.

I think the most sales go to the cheapest one and the one with the best customer service.

That's such good comment I just wish board partners would take heed on your words.

I can't think of the amount times I've recommend Gigabyte and MSI for people looking for a AMD video card and EVGA, KFA2 for Nvidia, hell they ought to pay me a commission for the business I give them! I would gladly recommend HIS and Sapphire to people I think they make some great cards but there customer card just lets them down and when your paying £100's for a video card I want to know if it goes wrong I'm going to be looked after.

Tonight I emailed someone, who I know had to RMA a KFA2 card, this is what was said. The initial RMA took only 5 working days to receive a replacement.
KFA2 RMA Experience said:
When my GTX 480 Anarchy edition ‘died’ I immediately logged the fault through their online RMA portal, I received an email back the following day asking me to confirm a few details about the fault and literally minutes after I replied to the email my RMA had was approved, so I packaged the card up and sent it to KFA2’s offices in Wales via next day recorded delivery.

It was roughly a week after sending my faulty card away that the replacement arrived at my door (i have attached a screenshot of my closed RMA from the KFA2 support website)

As you can see it was exactly 10 days (including a weekend) from when I logged the faulty card to a replacement arriving at my doorstep.

Unfortunately the replacement GTX 480 Anarchy card was faulty out of the box, it wasn’t stable at it’s factory overclock at any voltage settings, I called KFA2 support directly and they arranged a next day “swap out” replacement where the courier dropped off another replacement and uplifted the faulty replacement at no cost to me.

I actually ended up getting a GTX 580 Anarchy edition, so a free upgrade for me! Happy days!

Will be updating the list very soon.

PNY is OK RMA and customer service but their cards are poop, i dunno if they even make them anymore?

Anyways like above i sent off a 9800GX2 and it got replaced with a GTX 285 Performance Edition, so was a decent bump up and a single card not a dualcard they suck so bad!!

I tried to get rid of the GTX 285 for a 480 but it ran out of warranty lol, btw the 9800GX2 was alive and working but i said it had poor performance in games, they still replaced it :) So near the cards end of warranty its best try RMA and see if you can get a free upgrade lol.

Shouldn't you add that with MSI OcUK will deal with the full 3 year warranty?

In fact won't OcUK deal with the warranty for any of these manufacturers?
I've just done some digging, looks like Sapphire, Asus can be dealt with for the full duration of the warranty via OcUK, same with MSI, other than that the info somewhat cloudy.

I doubt it will make the RMA more efficient as after 28 days they will only ship the defect cards over to the manufacturer anyway.

Will update the list after I've had my tea.

Just a suggestion or two, you may want to state that OcUK will only send a replacement from stock after 28 working days (for cards over 28 days old)

Also, According to SOGA 1979, all fixes/replacements should be done within a reasonable amount of time, so in theory, all retailers should take a max of 28 days :)

where did the 2 working days for Gigabyte come from ? I thought it was 2 weeks ?

they're not perfect - they wouldn't accept my RMA for my 480SOC - claimed it tested perfectly on their "rigs" - I accepted them at their word and decided it was either my PSU or motherboard (which was an old 775)

cue 8 months later - new PSU (Corsair HX850) and new motherboard/cpu (Z77) - and still the card doesn't function as advertised - rather annoyed I am

now if I send it back and it fails their RMA again - I get charged testing fees - how could it have possibly passed their tests when failed on 2 complete different systems at this end

Hmmmm. Not sure what to do now. RMA'ed my faulty Sapphire HD6870 to OCuk last week and just received an email staing they couldn;t find a fault. Yet here is one of may issues it has started displaying:

Code:

worked fine for almost two years and stopped working . Tried rolling back drivers , driver fusion. Checked monitor cables, monitors and once I put in an old HD 4860 my computer displayed fine. My warranty is due to run out 6/12/2012 is there any point in going direct to Sapphire or do I have any comeback with OCuk ? My PSU id corsair 650W

I don't know what it is but this issue comes up a lot with RMAing to OcUK where the customer claims the card is faulty yet when the card is tested back at the store they say it works fine.

Is there another computer you could test it out on?
