You do know that's totally irrelevant? People are talking about Welbeck's individual traits as in his passing and his goal scoring, the only advantage Welbeck has being at Man Utd is that Man Utd should create more goal scoring opportunities than Fulham but that point is rendered completely meaningless when one of the two players we're comparing has played less than half the amount of minutes than the other and the fact that most of Welbeck's chances are created by himself (cant remember him missing many taps in and the general consensus is he does well to create chances all on his own and then fluffs them)

I think Welbeck isn't particularly suited to playing on the wing or as the deeper striker but he ends up there because he won't start up top over RvP. As you say, he doesn't miss many sitters because he generally doesn't get into those positions.

No however I think you are coming to the point.

He should not be playing for Man U, and shouldn't be on 90k a week etc.

Exactly, I always remember an interview Rooney did back in around 2006 (although it may of even been a few years later) when he must have been about 21 (same age as Welbeck) talking about how he needed to get into more goal scoring positions and get more tap ins and like when I compared Welbeck to Ronaldo earlier I'm talking about Wayne Rooney here so if when Rooney was 21 and he hadn't mastered getting into those position more frequently maybe just maybe people should give little old Danny Welbeck more time (a player who in all likelyhood is never going to be at the standard of a Rooney or Ronaldo)

I dont know if Welbeck has a long term future at United or not, I suspect he probably doesn't but natural progression would suggest his composure in front of goal should improve the older he gets and crucially the more games he gets so whether it's at United or at somewhere like Everton I'm pretty confident that someone is going to get a pretty good player eventually

IF that is the case then Utd need to get an experienced centre half in. Vidic has been a fantastic captain and a brilliant player - but imo we cant have our two most experienced centre halves so injury prone, and Rio (who has been better fitness wise this season) stil prone to niggling injuries keeping him out for ages.

Yes Evans and Smalling are great players to have, but imo Utd need a centre half who is a leader (esp with Evra coming to the end of his career, even if he is improving again this season), and we just dont have that. Maybe years down the line Jones can be added to this, but he just cant be considered in that position currently for major games
