If you're Lingard/Mkhitaryan and play bad you're a goner, don't see why it should be any different for Fellaini/Rooney
He probably would be alright there, wouldn't be surprised if you saw him in that position when he's 35. Certainly got the size and strength to do it. What Om is saying is Pogba should be able to play anywhere in midfield, Bale can play upfront, either wing, AM...

Utd are so dumb, how Fellaini and Rooney start is beyond me. The entire team is bad for having both of them playing. Slow, lethargic, bad movement, no guile/creativity and make everyone around them play worse. They have massively superior players on the bench and decided to get rid of Bastian who is miles better than both of those in midfield.
Aside from refusing to drop those two, Mourinho I always said was never a man to come in and fix an offence. He's a guy that can take a ultra attacking team without the right defensive solidity, add that defensive side and win titles for a couple years before he breaks the offence. Bringing him in when Utd needed the exact opposite type of manager, they had a pretty solid defence with the likes of Shaw to come back and adding Bailly improved them further, but they needed a manager who could coach them into a great offence.
Mourinho always screamed exactly the wrong manager for what Utd needed in terms of developing the squad going forward.

I dont expect trees to be pulled up but if you put...for eg Suarez on the wing he'll still make an impact. The excuses for Pogba are just daft
I agree with Om, for Pogba to be the finished article he needs to improve his defensive capabilities.
Of course, 90m should be buying a player that understands other positions to some degree

It's clear we need to start the game with Rooney either high up or on the bench. Same goes for Fellaini really but for me he's a non starter.

Rooney has to be dropped for the next game, surely it's worth trying Herrera or Mata in that central position instead?!
