GTX 1060

I'd laugh at some people in here based on comments they made not so long ago if it turns out an overclocked 970 model or 980 model on clearance is actually a better faster card.

As for VR seriously who spends the current money on a headset looking to get 90fps and goes for anything less than a 980 TI or 1070. If you can afford the headsets you can afford a better card to get a better experience from it.

Looks good but will probably be a little expensive, as per 1080/70. I'm thinking £250 for the 'clown card' KFA2 plastic blower. Decent AIB cards around £280 I would imagine.

It looks to me like it'll be a good little card for sure. It however also looks like Nvidia have tried to make sure that anyone that buys one will have to upgrade in <2 years by disabling SLi and lowering VRAM.
???

People who buy x60 cards are probably playing at 1080p and 6GB will be quite enough for just about anything for a year or two. Maybe there's the odd game where they have to turn down a texture setting? Big whoop, though. You dont buy a £250 GPU in the expectations that you're gonna be able to max everything for years, ya know?

In 2 years there will be plenty of reason to want to upgrade beyond just being able to use a higher texture setting.

Oooh right WCCF... yeah that reliable font of information...

From that Article

"The GeForce GTX 1060 is based on the GP106 GPU which features 1280 CUDA cores and 80 TMUs. The card comes at clock speeds of 1506 MHz but boosts all the way up to 1708 MHz. NVIDIA has a massive lead in terms of core frequencies with TSMC’s 16nm FF process node and that shows as their chips are built to clock beyond 2 GHz when overclocked. The pixel fill rate for this chip is 72.3 GPixel/s while the texture fill rate is 159.6 GTexel/s."

That is speculation at best.....

4/10 - please try harder, especially with some reliable information, its fairly obvious to anyone who reads these forums that particular site is a clickbait heaven, that spouts utter nonsense and constantly contradicts itself..

Good try though Drivla err Skribla ;)

Jeez how old are you 10? Of course its speculation lol the cards not even out and no reviews are even out it but it should be possible to hit near there considering it already boosts to 1700mhz at stock. With all the speculation that was going on in the 480 thread I find it quite hard to believe you are surprised at me speculating being an AMD fan lol.

Why would you laugh? I dont get it.

You'd only be able to claim hypocrite if they slammed the 480 for it and then praise the 1060 for it. So maybe hold off on the smug, pre-accusatory attitude and see how things shape up instead of already acting insecure and defensive about the criticism the 480 got?

No, but it seems you are sure of these things and judging by your previous posts (most of which are pretty anti AMD and pro Nvidia) probably believe this to be fact....

Like i say, cite a credible resource, WCCF is not, if you want to be taken seriously, cite serious credible information, not clickbait articles.

Those people are waiting because THERE IS NO PRODUCT.... you cannot buy something that does not exist.... Sure they may be waiting for the higher end cards, but currently there is no higher end card to buy other than a "Pre Order" and wait your turn card..

There is a wait because there is nothing to ship and sell to them... that is why the cards have been on Pre-Order for so long and coming in dribs and drabs, if there was no issue, you would see them in thousands in warehouses and the sites selling would not have them listed as "Pre Order" but as "Available".

And of course these people are not buying the 480, its a TOTALLY different market lol, if im looking to buy a 1070 or a 1080 i am definitely not looking at the 480 as an alternative, its simply not in the same league..

Seriously do you even think about what your about to spout before you start typing? or is it a case of engage fingers, hit reply, engage brain?

Well, actually there is a product, some of us already got it.

Second I don't make my points by insulting others, this is not high school and it's about time you grow up ...

there's no point trying to use logic with some people. That's not what they understand ....

Actually if it's reported boost is 1700mhz you can bet it's boosting into the 1800's at stock leaving less room for overclocks. Check out this gtx1070 which is rated as having a stock boost of 1683mhz yet at stock it boosts to 1873mhz. They managed to gain 13% extra performance which is not great following Kepler/Maxwell/ and assorted Amd cards.

Not had chance to read announcement as am out of office and in middle of nowhere, just got my phone!

So the announcement is $299 for FE 6Gb? Then custom 3Gb cards $249 and upwards is correct?

Have you looked at the OCUK 1070 and 1080 pages recently? There are loads in stock now. For the 1070 in particular, almost all the models are in stock apart from the water block ones.

Yes people who ordered later and for a specific model are still waiting but you can buy a 1070 or 1080 for delivery tomorrow very easily now if you aren't that picky about brand/model.

Oh there is a product, people have gotten them, but not in the bucketloads you profess to....

If you cannot see there is an issue with the supply of these cards and all signs do not point to it being the shipping, then i cant help you understand...

That is what it looks to be, with a release date of the 17th.

exactly and my point was that even with some in stock some people are still waiting for their preferred cards and that's fair enough. This isn't a card you ditch after 2 months so even if the wait is a bit longer then so be it.

Actually i only checked the 1080 page this morning and the majority was still citing "Pre-Order" i did not look at the 1070, does not suprise though if theres plenty more 1070 than 1080 available, as the 1080 is the chip they are probably struggling the most to produce, so the weaker chips get binned for 1070, and the even weaker stuff will probably end up as 1060 it seems...

I never said that, read what I said. Ocuk themselves said they sold and pre-sold thousands, some cards have waiting queues of hundreds of people.

All these points can be made and understood without insults ...

Release date is the 19th july, does that mean you can preorder then and recieve your card mid to late august, lol.

Also it says the founder edition are limited.
