GTX 780 Ti Specifications Leaked – Full Blown Gk110 Core with 2880 SP

Its obvious now just how much NV clearly had up their sleeve to use to counter this gen from AMD. After all the 780 is really just the true 680!;)

780's down to a more realistic £400 price point
780 GHz edition to challenge the 290x for around £500
780Ti to get back the crown £550+

Offering a complete blanket counter attack to the 290x's at £430+

Since my question got swamped within crazy guys posts, ill ask again. Appreciate it's guess work but..

What kind of difference are we looking at between a 780 and 780ti. Guessing these will come in at around £500+, will they be worth the £100+ over the 780s?

I'm getting the general consensus is; for gaming no, for benchmarks yes

I have to say, this is all excellent for us, the gamers.
Cut throat competition just means that we get some fantastic cards at lower prices.

Long may it continue.

Arghhhhh same here :(

Anyways..... If these specs of 15 SMX units and 3GB of VRAM @ a £550 price, is anyone here interested? I say that price, as I have read a couple of times now that the 780Ti will slot into the previous 780 price.

I know I kid that I will buy them, but frankly no. It's not really all that exciting and we all knew that it would turn out to be that way. We know the architecture and we know what it can do. I think the Nvidia milking reference of old is properly strong with this card lol.

It's not unusual for Nvidia to confuse the masses with their model / pricing structure, and I think this is a clear cut case of that. This card is a bit of an ugly mutation as it has all the talk on paper (if leaks are accurate) but just won't have the performance to back it up. The only people this card may interest initially is people who are on Fermi or more outdated hardware looking to upgrade, and even then I'd suggest they just looked out for a cheap Titan.

Nvidia are having to use everything they have this round to be the fastest card which has not been the case for years. They have nothing in hand apart from a full fat gk110. Amd are just about matching Nvidia with a much smaller chip. This has been amd's best round of cards for a good while at the top end. GCN seems to be a good success all around for amd.

Nvidia will hold the edge in performance for as long as amd build smaller chips compared to Nvidia.

The problem for Nvidia is on 20nm can they bring in these big chips again as it took them a good while to bring them to market this round. It does seem to be getting harder each round for them to do this.

GHz edition? What have i missed?

Not much. Just a new revision of the GTX780 with slightly higher stock clocks, doesn't really mean much.

It's probably just worth ignoring it exists, otherwise there's a spanner in the works just for confusion.
