thx Siege2

But have found out cannot just plug sky+ into vga with a scart to vga cable as the panel does not support a horizontal scan rate of 15.625KHz
so gonna keep my lcdtv and get a 24 inch :(

Wowsers!!!!

I thought I had a dodgy screen because of the high pitched squeeling....

I read some of this thread and muted the speakers completely....GONe...

Ahhhhh BLISS....I've been putting up with that noise for so long!!!!

Anyway, back to my actual question....

Has anyone done any extensive testing and got some good settings to use? The defaults are far too bright and a little too much contrast...

I've taken the brightness down 20 and the contrast down 10 as someone here has recommended...But any more fine tuning than that possible? Which mode should I used? Should I leave X-Contrast on etc....(This actually stops the brightness\contrast controls working)...

Thanks very much :)

Can't decide between this and the Dell S2409W...

Main uses really are internet surfing, movies and 360 gaming!

Gah, decisions decisions.

The 360 is supposedly getting 16:10 support in the next dashboard update, I'm sure I didn't make that up... I hope so, will definately be chucking the 360 through mine if it does. It saddens me when the TV is "in use"...

Got it today and lugged it home from work, about 1/4 mile, it still managed to destroy my arms though. Does not feel like they are mine now! First and very quick impressions (had to get back to work) is it's a great size and lovely picture quality. Good viewing angles. Still need to fully set it up, set the brightness etc. Quite looking forward to some gaming tonight and an HD film I have to watch.

very tempted to get one

my mate lent me his DGM 24" VA for two weeks (coming from a 19" xerox), and now i really want the higher res again :)

Hi, I'm new to the forums - just wanted to added some weight to the thread. I have had this for about three months now and it is FANTASTIC! One of my best purchases.
Ok the image quality isn't up there with the syncmasters but for a gaming monitor I guarantee you won't be disappointed. At this price it is an absolute steal!
