Has Anyone Moved From Nvidia To Amd And Not Regretted It

If a 4080 super is within £100 of a 7900xtx, I’d personally opt for that but I haven’t checked street pricing in a long time.

The feature set on nvidia is just too good. Dlss, vr support, day 1 drivers, dldsr, better hdr support, and that’s before the RT benefits.

I can honestly say ive never enabled RT on my 3070ti so ill not miss it.
I know it’s all subjective but for me I don’t think RT is the reason you go Nvidia, their feature set (DLSS, Reflex, RTX HDR) is all significantly ahead of AMD’s comparative options.

I like my 7900XT as it does exactly what I want from it. I won’t pretend though that FSR is even closely competitive to DLSS and that’s something that, when I come to upgrading in however many years, might make me more inclined to look at Nvidia instead.

I don’t care in the slightest about RT, so I’m happy. Far better bang for your buck than Nvidia. My 7900XTX has been fantastic. That said, now, depending on price I’d consider the super if I was buying, despite the stupid name.

AMD supports VR, you get day 1 drivers, it has HDR support that is more than good enough and does RT. I don’t disagree the feature set is better on Nvidia, but it ain’t as big a gap as your post implies.

I keep expecting all games to stop working as soon as I install an AMD

Going from Nvidia to AMD used to be the smart to make but with these days Nvidia is the more compelling product due to ray tracing performance and DLSS (unless you don't care about those things then AMD is still the way to go but that would put you in a minority based on sales volumes).

Went from my 1080 to a 7900xtx. Built an AMD system with a 7800x3d so thought I would try there best card which was a sapphire nitro 7900xtx and it's been perfectly fine.

Now the news has come out they won't be making high end cards anymore, on my next upgrade I might have to go back Nvidia.

Moved from a 1080Ti to a 7900XT just after the AMD card was released.
I have been impressed by it overall. I wish I had gone for the 7900XTX if I were to nitpick.

I wished more people would buy AMD so that NVIDIA had a solid rival, but I will buy either brand next time as I want the best performance for my money.

A lot of people say AMD cards are crap because some game 10y ago did not have drivers released for a while. I have had no such problems.

This is not really good for the consumer AMD giving up on high end cards.....but what do they determine is high end cards like the 7900xt or 7900xtx or are the gonna finish on the tier below.

I suspect this is one gen only, maybe whilst they sort their MCM properly. Should be middle tier next gen 7800XT replacement.

Going on what I've read, AMD's sales in the high end i.e 7900Xt/XTX are abysmally tiny compared to their sales in the £500 and below market, It makes sense to make the very best products they can for that market to grow their marketshare while at the same time adding features, Polishing drivers further etc.....

With RDNA5 if hopefully their marketshare goes up then they'll return to the high end which will reap the benefits of their refinement of their architecture, Process and so on.

I hope anyway as I don't want a market dominated by Nvidia, That's how we get to mid range cards costing close to £1000.

Haven't owned an Nvidia card for yonks. Been Vega64, 6700XT and 6900XT for me and all have been fine for what I need / use. My bro went 6950XT > Some Nvidia card and he also is happy. Apart from the driver interface, he didn't like that lol. But his card seems fine too.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who have, there's a lot of guff spoken about AMD drivers but you'll find most people here running them just fine. They'll be along at some point to confirm I'm correct on that.

Remember, the people who pop in the card, load the drivers and have a hassle free experience are not the ones you'll find on Internet forums. The ones who have an issue stand out, because they're in the vast minority and present on forums.
Spot on.

For that to happen people who want a more even playing field in the GPU space would have to put their money where their mouths are. If you(the general you) want a company to succeed you will have to feed it some money ;)

AMD aren't giving up on high end cards, they are just concentrating on low to mid range for a gen or two presumably to try and gain some marketshare back.

I have been on Nvidia since well basically since they come out, but noticing the 7900xt and 7900xtx getting great reviews.
So fancy a change as either of them cards are great by looking at the reviews so was wondering if anyone has made the change
and if so was it worth it or did you change back thanks.
GTX 970
GTX 1070
RTX 2070S

RX 7800 XT.... no regrets, great card :)
