Have things got out of hand?

Wait I am the bad guy but this woman has the to wear the burka because her husband will lash her if her any part of her skin is seen in public, Muslim men like oppressing women, no place in society for it.
Knives can be used as murder weapons! ****! Lets ban import and production of ALL knives!!!

Such a stupid argument.

You are not the bad guy, its just your comments are prejudice and dumbfounded, like saying "muslim men oppress women", there are SOME that do that, not MOST.

The problem is you base a lot of your opinion on pub talk which comes from media influence, the media loves potraying things worse than they are such as a recent case where a man and woman (A Muslim & Pakistani race - They are not the same btw) beat and oppressed a woman. If you look at the events that took place, it wasn't even a cultural thing (to do with country origin not religion) they were sick people, just like any other criminal that says they belong to a race or religion.

Most muslim men and women get on fine, they don't have forced marriages and believe in hurting others - this is not Islam, the media shows power mad people linking it to religion for more sales.

You don't help by causing segregation when a person just wants to get on, like the burka person in question in the article. You don't know if her identification was checked or not.

The burka has no other use to hide identity and oppress women, knifes are used for hunting, cooking all sorts of things.

Not sure is serious

Iran and Saudi Arabia they have to wear the veil by law.

The rest of the world? Not so much. And it's not enforced by their male counterparts.

Educate yourself boy.

I think you will find that airports use facial recognition systems coupled to CCTV, especially around passport control.

Burkas are also a form of female oppression and not for religious reasons, there really is no need for them in the western world.

EDIT: But then again are we talking about a Hajib or a Burqa?

Does not compute.

Interesting point. I didn't know the difference. The article refers to a
which looks like this:

.

Given I didn't know this, I'm not sure how many others didn't. In my mind, the whole article read as if it was a burqa:

So if I am a racist for my views what are the French government because they banned the wearing of a Burqa in southern France?

And out of the 3 million muslims there, only 367 were actually recorded of wearing them. So said the French police. It was a silly ruling by yet another ridiculous government.

But nice try. You would get on well with the French government actually, knee-jerking at everything.

Their ruling wasn't against the Burqa, rather the banning of hiding your face in public. Obviously that affects Burqa wearers, but it wasn't a direct ban.

LOL hush your mouth Cheets, you do talk an awful amount of rubbish.

Sure knives are used for hunting etc but are also used in a lot of murders as well lol...but then using that as an argument against Burkhas shows just how ignorant you really are.

And i think you will find a lot of these burkha wearing women wear it through their own choice;).

Seriously get a clue.

LOL@Cheets64:D

Clearly shows you know nothing of what your talking about...

Neither come under "racist" but ridiculously intolerant of cultural difference seems a better description. The attitude of the French government that equality can only be achieved if everyone is forced to be equal in public is just silly (and a traditional reaction to class politics of old). The reality of life is that trying to force equality on people in this manor is very very undemocratic.

And it's interesting to note that although Iran and Saudi Arabia do make women wear veils by law, they make up about 5% of the entire population of muslims, I believe.

Has there been any studies in France after the ban? Has anti social behaviour dropped? Has it helped any of the other social "issues".

To me it sounds like he wasn't mad at the muslim woman but rather at the system.

He was mad at the imperfection of the system that leads to special treatment. So no, he was not racist by any means, the muslim guard is just a drama queen looking for conflicts. She needs to grow the f up out of this juvenile "you offended me approach".
