Hazro - Any Update?

i think as mark has mentioned that the snow is somehow caused by the newer ati cards using higher non-industry standard frequeinzies which in turn is causing a simular affect (snow) to a tv with a dodgy ariel (interference/static) and this is blocked out by changing the dvi connection point on some ati cards as they use a different chips for each dvi socket and ones better grade than the other thus sheilds better.

That was me. Still waiting for someone to try the option I suggested and report back. Either it's fixed it and the affected users can't be bothered to come back to this thread now they're happy, or I am talking out of my backside. Either way I want to know!

Which would you get Hazro HZ26Wi rev2.1 26 or Hazro HZ30W 30"?

I really need a new monitor fast and im going to order tomorrow. Just need a little help on deciding which one.

A little help anyone?

I looked at the same two monitors, and I went for the HZ30W :) My reasons were:

* Better black levels on the 30"
* No real issues with the 30"
* Excellent pricing - only 28% more expensive than the 26", but for 78% more desktop space (in terms of number of pixels)

Now that I've gone to a 30" I don't think I'll go back. For windows and desktop use it's almost like another world. The only real downside to the 30" is that you'll need a whopper of a video card to run games quickly at the native resolution. That said, you could buy a top end GPU for the price difference between this screen and other 30" screens.

edit - I made a thread on the HZ30W a couple of weeks ago: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17951008

Hi all,
I have tried both ports, port 2 is awfull port one better.
id buy a 30" if i were u dave as it doesn't seem to have as many issues.
As for a new graphics card, im running a mac G5 AGP, and cards are limited and expensive. I am looking into the flashing the Rom idea on PC cards.
but dont wanna spent loads of cash if still have the probs.

To test using a different DVI connection? I did this...as I said above?

No. I meant it was me that said about ATI outputting an out of spec frequency at 1920x1200. And that someone should try this to fix it and see if it helps.

Oh, I tried that and it didn't help. the only thing that did was using the other DVI port which falls in line with different chips outputting on each DVI port!

I have tried on a my nvidia, multiple cables on both ports and all get snow :(

I love my screen though, not going to swap it. I've not tried the powerstrip fix, so that might fix it :)

i did the same (snap! :P ). (buy one that is :P )

the 30" doesnt seem to have any complaints or at least they seem to be nearly unheard off and all reviews say its very good and would have top marks if not for the inputs and price but at £660- its amazing

grabbed one on order :p
lucky i waited a couple of months for christmas deals rather than getting the dell.

get one before they go upwards of £900-when the new Q5 panels are used (taking over from Mrk as new hazro sales rep :P)

I sent my 24Wi 2 weeks ago and i haven't heard anything yet. I have no idea whether Hazro has it or not. I only know the post office has registered a delivery. There was a problem with the delivery the first two tries, but the third one was successfully delivered.

Christmas and New Year is coming so i am affraid i won't know anything until the week of january 5th.

With such an expensive monitor it is pretty scary to be in doubt...

Well I decided to take the plunge after following this thread and considering it for ages....

I found a B-Grade Hazro HZ26Wi on offer for a mere £436.99 inc vat which was an offer I couldn't refuse!

Fully expecting a scatched monitor with loads of dead pixels and no cables but I hope I am plesently suprised (although I'm not holding my breathe!).

Monitor arrives on Tuesday 6th Jan and I'll try and take/upload a few pictures during the week if I get the opportunity as there doesn't seem to be many in this thread of the 26" version.

Good luck with that :)

B-Grade is a monitor that someone sent back because they didn't like it, right?

Hopefully it's just because of the 1.0 firmware and not because it had a dead pixel.

Hehe well "B-Grade" can mean anything from a slightly tatty box through to dead pixels, severe backlight bleed and no power supply so it's pot luck!

I'm really not sure what I'm gonna get but the at that price it was too good to miss but on the item it did state "rev 2.1" so hopefully it should have at least have the latest firmware.

Hopefully I can still invoke the Distance Selling Regulations even on B-Grade stuff if it is a total disaster - afterall, no notes/pictures were made regarding it's condition. I did even contact customer services telling them a) there "b-grade" price was wrong and it was equally as expensive as the "as new price" ! and b) what was the condition.

They promptly dropped the price to around £450 and really luckily dropped it again minutes before I bought it to £439.99 - how lucky was that?!

However, they said it would "most likely have some scratches and can't guarantee no dead pixels" (which might be code for it's gonna be a bit sh1te ;))
