Hazro - Any Update?

And in my post in the Windows section about this everyone else reports multi monitors working just fine under Vista 64 and different monitors, ATI aren't able to reproduce the fault either, of course they wont have a Hazro available >.<

I had my PS3 hooked up to a 24" hazro, was fine with short hdmi leads, but only lower resolutions would work with a longer cable
it's not the cable at fault either as it works fine with my plasma tv and the 24" HP monitor I have now

Thanks builder22, that's quite strange. I intend to use the hdmi cable that came bundled with the screen - is this is same one that you used? Did you ever get it resolved or is that what the HP is :p ;)

Just to let you know, the HDMI cable with the screen doesnt really work for me either. If you have green snow problems over DVI you will have the same problems over HDMI.

Be willing to experiment with your monitor to solve your problem. No two are alike :)

Thanks for that rsgeiger, i've had my Hazro for a brave while now and have been fortunate enough not to suffer from the green snow problems. As you say it may not be until i hook the PS3 upto it that i'll know if there are any problems!

Do you currently have any issues with your PS3 (assuming you have one) on the Hazro? Are you still using the HDMI that was supplied or have you bought another one?

Thanks

Well they collected it on Thursday, and I cam home today (only day I'm not working from home) to find a FedEx card through the door. That's one bloody quick turnaround assuming it is them.

Of course FedEx don't let you ring them after 5:30 so I'm probably not going to see a redelivery tomorrow, and their depot is in bloody Cardiff. I hate Cardiff, bonus points that I have to wait in tomorrow for another redelivery from a different courier that let me arrange that online because I didn't notice the FedEx card as it is tiny and torn in half.

Mine was collected last Wednesday and was delivered yesterday so Lum, that is a bloody quick turnaround. Thing was, I didn't get any notice from them telling me they were coming so it was very lucky someone was present to receive it.

Having said that, the firmware is updated to v2.1 and can confirm the gradient banding is gone! Now I need to see what mrk did with his initial settings before calibrating it...

Brightness 50 and Contrast 6, Should give you a very pleasing brightness without compromising details.

At the above settings you will be able to clearly see all the black segments in the Black Test @ http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

And up to #253 on the White Test @ http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php (255 is visible if you squint quite a bit!)

I found the luminance using 50:6 is 121cd/m2 so right on the money for recommended brightness for an LCD*

*You will most likely need to use the monitor daily for several weeks before it settles in, I found this to be the case on mine as the brightness/contrast adjustments never allowed for 120cd/m2 when I first got the monitor back but some time later it now does :)

Why would you wait for the dell 3008 panel? afaik, the only difference would be a scaler, so unless you cant drive 2560*1600 and cant use graphics card scaling, you can get the current one for a much lower price.

Thanks for that mrk. I literately turned the monitor on for the first time last night to check the banding had gone, then went to bed. Didn't notice if the luminance had been reduced or not. But I'll have a proper play tonight (but will have to grab back my calibrator from a friend at the w/e)! I'm just pleased everything has turned out alright in the end.

The post office notified me that my package can't be delivered. There is no one at the given address or my package is not accepted. They tried to deliver twice.
Are Hazro still in business? The past week i have sent them three emails, all three without a reply.

edit:

Mrk: look at the post from benlawlor

Well I now know why I got such a quick response. They didn't actually read the form they had me include with the monitor, where I complained that the panel wasn't mounted right in the casing. I've got firmware 2.1 and the backlight has been turned down a bit but nothing else.

That little bit of visible silver metal in the bottom right corner that is reflecting the light from the display is really getting on my nerves.

Finally got mine back after it got lost etc!
well someone forgot to put the stand back on correctly!
plus there is something loose inside the case oh and display hasnt been screwed onto the stand properly! I cant figure out how to get back to those screws!
Oh and the banding is still there! i am as always on ver 2.1
Maybe others dont see the banding but when i compare it to my old 5yr old PB g4 it has massive gradient!
Oh and there are also a few bits of snow!!
NICE
all in all hazro just nothing!
i will email them in a bit to get their response!
