Hazro - Any Update?

Try Ebay. Once in a few weeks there's a few Hazro's coming by. Like: http:// tiny url. com /y9vv29p

But, why do you want to buy a Hazro? There is no warranty. I have a dead power supply for months now. I can't get ahold of Hazro and i didn't see it (Welltronics, nor Li-Shin) for sale anywhere else yet. :(

I am also still looking for the brackets to wall mount... for one year now...o well.

Yes, mrk, yes you do :D

I still have my hazro, but to keep it working on the digital ports (DVI/HDMI) is a nightmare. Only two methods will allow it to work at all with my PC (everything else leaves a blank, black screen): Either the monitor is plugged in at boot, or I plug it into the computer right when I turn it on, then it mostly works with minimal snow. BUT it can never go to sleep, can never be turned off again, and it must be unpluged the night before! And yes, it still has horrible banding.

I really do love it, colors are great! But there was a serious quality issue along the line. I expect the power supply to go next, and when that happens, I just expect to trash it because Hazro wont answer any attemps at contact anymore. :(

PS. mrk - what are you monitor calibration settings at this point? What white point and contract measurements can you get out of it?

On the OSD I leave the colour on 6500K, Brightness on 50, Contrast on 14 and Sharpness default 57.

Calibrated results are very good.

Luminance is 120cd/m2 exactly, blackpoint is 0.37 is the lowest I have calibrated to and colour is 6500k.

Thanks mrk, but at that contrast level isnt your contrast ratio really low (like 200 or so)?

Not on my screen nope.

Whites are as neutral to white as possible and even a completely white screen is very easy on the eyes yet black detail is still completely visible.

On this All the grey checkers are visible, the last 2 you need to relax your eyes to see as the white is quite contrasty as you'd expect. On the Black test they are all visible immediately. And lastly on the contrast test they're all also visible!

Oh so Hazro lcds are rubbish then?? I sooo wanted one of these cos they are the smartest looking screens ever made

No they're not rubbish, some had QC issues and only a handful of people here bought one and as such a handful of that handful had issues :p

The image quality, performance and build quality is better than any other screen in this price range/class.

Is = maybe was because I don't know if or when Hazro are going to out anything new!

Is Hazro still trading?

Sadly no one knows; I'm happy that my power supply blew a little while ago, so I managed to get one of the new improved ones before they stopped replying to people.

Still planning on getting a colorimeter at some point to see if I can get rid of the yellow smudge in the middle when I'm looking at a completely white screen. Annoyingly this is when looking at windows explorer and visual studio! My crappy TN at work looks much better in Visual Studio :(

It looks pretty when playing games though, which is what I do with most of my time.

I'm also getting minimal snow now days, think it's been 2/3 months since I've actually seen some.

Do I have one of the only fully working Hazro screens on the planet or something? :D

I signed up to this forum specifically to say that my HZ24WBi has been working flawlessly since the firmware fix. I've never seen the smallest hint of green snow. It calibrated well and I've been very happy with it.

This was obviously tempting fate! In the time it took the moderator to approve my application to join the forum, the Hazro monitor has stopped working.

Today, it refused to wake from sleep, showing a black screen with the occasional grey flash. The green LED light at the bottom flashes occasionally. I've switched everything off and on and checked all the connections but to no avail.

I unplugged the DVI lead from the Hazro monitor and plugged it in to an old monitor, which works fine.

Does anyone have any advice? (I filled an enquiry form on the Hazro website, but it bounced.)

Here is the list of things I would do if my monitor goes down.

Turn it OFF. Unplug it from everything. All cables, all power outlets, everything.

Take it to a cold place.

Take the power supply to the fridge. Seriously, but only go this far if your fridge is not condensing water.

Do this for 12 hours. This is to completely discharge the capacitors in the monitor.

OK, now get it back to your computer, or more preferably a laptop (you will see why).

On you computer/laptop, keep it at the boot screen, BIOS screen, or any screen before windows boots. this hopefully sends the video signal to all outputs.

Now plug back in the monitor and select a port to test. plug this port into the pc. turn on the monitor.

If you see nothing, try to see if any of the menu buttons work. hold pressure on the buttons for 5 seconds to be sure. This is especially true of the power button when the monitor has been unplugged for so long.

Do your best to cycle through each port option available and/or each menu option available.

If it doesnt work after this, see if there is any way to reset the cmos on the monitor itself. Otherwise, better get in contact with the supplier.
