Hazro - Any Update?

Indeed, but this time mine is going back for good :(

As nice as it is to look at and touch/be in the presence of I feel the issues once accumulated together are not up to scratch with my requirements any longer.

I'll defo be looking at them again when they release onboard LUT models as that's my ultimate goal but for the moment the HP seems to offer more things suited to my requirements!

Damning words indeed Mrk, especially as you were the one who initially convinced me to get mine! Have they agreed to refund you?

They'll be arranging it in due course, I would not advise people to not buy this monitor once firmware and fixes are in place, even without them it performs amazing in games and movies but even after the fixes my requirements won't meet the HZ24Wi, the main one being the ergotron arm, I fully expected it to be fine with it but the 24" is too heavy and the arm just dropped to the floor and this kind of let me down big time.

You will recall I've been hankering about the Ergotron arm before I even got the Hazro!

Yup, major reasons mine went back too - ergonomic adjustment, but also didn't like the glossy screen (I'm in a very bright room, so it was a non starter), and wanted a monitor that "just works".

As with mrk when I next upgrade I'll definitely be looking at the hz30, doubly so if it as programmable LUT.

Oh yes :) cannot be without IPS. The HP will be just like the Dell 2007WFP days, just 4" bigger :)

hehehehe :D

I am in two minds, i like the colours etc but I miss the blacks. They are damn good on 'The IPS' but they are not as good as my viewsonic in imho.

You have however got calibration hardware and i do not............

Back to VA for me i think

Hi folks,

Specifically to Mrk: How did you end up getting a complete refund on your monitor as from what I understand you have had it (them?) quite a long time? certainly long enough to be very prolific about it on this thread?

I bought my Hazro 24" on Wed 27th (along with 2.5k worth of other stuff from OCUK) and took delivery of the goods on Thrusday 28th.

Whilst I am really happy with the monitor in wondows and in games, I too have been struck by the banding bug. It seems quite bad at a few websites i visit and makes things look like you are running a £30 monitor not a £400 one.

Im aware there is a fix coming which may or may not be delivered via a patch. It may be RTB. My money is on RTB because this kind of stuff never goes how you want it to.

I am concidering asking for my money back on the 24" becasue it bands so badly when looking at a screen (mostly websited) that are attempting to show a smooth gradient of colour.

What do you think my chances are on the 'not fot for purpose' as it would appear i cant return it under the distance selling act as my 7 days are up?

Dam

I'm not very far from thinking like Mrk does ... I mean this product has too many issues and I really think it is not well born ... This "i" serie stinks a lot ...

Maybe I should ask for a complete refund ?

What issues apart from banding ?
If the firmware fixes the banding properly and doesnt ruin anything else in the process then this is one heck of a decent monitor.

I know you have problems of a different manner, but surely that could happen with any manufacturer.

I've had it a while yes and have waited and been patient throughout the whole time waiting for the fixes as and when issues are found! I don't think there would be a problem with the refund, the first revision didn't last very long because within the first few days I'd been in contact with them reporting the DPMS issue and then been in contact every week thereafter pretty much until the Wi came out!

I think as a customer I'd be entitled to a refund if after all the waiting and trouble some more issues remain unresolved due to some minor issues that once put together equal something not suiting for my needs in the end!

Since you bought your screen from OCUK Damage I'd recommend speaking with them as I bought from Hazro direct and dealt with them directly for all things.

Does the ergotron work ok with the HP if you still have it? (can't remember whether you mentioned that you had returned the arm or not?)

The shop would not refund me as it had been opened so I had to sell it at a loss!

The HP has all the adjustments I need though so no need for the Ergotron :)

Dam

Sales of goods act gives you a "reasonable" time to reject goods as not fit for purpose. Trading standards and OFT apparently state 28 days is a reasonable time.

That's annoying :S

Nice to hear the HP is fit for your needs, I'm keeping my eye on the HP thread to try and help me make a decision, atm it seems like it falls between the hazro and the dell, as well as the fact that atm it just seems to 'work'.

Have returned my Hazro HZ26Wi, not sure what to get now :(, the low input lag was so good on the Hazro going to be hard to find something to replace it with, shame the build quality and the other issues let the screen down.

Well after having 5 24" screens now don't hold your hopes up yet because if the HP end sup being a lemon I'll be on the search again LOL!

All I want is a Dell 2007WFP but in 24" and that isn't a Dell 24xx model!

From reading the posts there is a lot of negativity surrounding this monitor but I'd like to echo Mick-1965's quote above as if the firmware works (hopefully) to cure the banding, its still a really good monitor.

At the minute i have no intention of getting rid of mine as after looking for a decent LCD for years, this suits my needs and the issues that are being highlighted should hopefully be fixed leaving a really good all-rounder with an IPS screen, which is relatively rare at this size (24").

It's not all bad - just trying to add a little positivity ;)
