Hazro - Any Update?

The countdown begins. I really hope they don't mess this up. go.mole did you get an email or anything telling you when your screen will be returned? Like most people here I'll have to be at home when they pickup/drop off.

Well, when I submitted the form on Thursday and it repeated my address line one, on line two and three as well, so I sent them a web note to tell them the full correct address straight away.

As Sijo45 had FedEx just turn up without receiving any confirmation of them coming, I brought my screen to work just in case someone turned up and at 11:14 FedEx turned up.

I just checked my email and at 11:47, (over half an hour after FedEx had been); I've had a reply to my web note I sent on Thursday saying:

Hazro said:
A collection has been arranged on 22/09/2008 and the revised
address details submitted have been forwarded to the courier.

So good job I bought my screen with me.

Basically, if you have submitted your form, then make sure that your screen is waiting at where you said it would be, as they will be turning up at some point soon :)

I contacted Hazro this morning to find out when my pick up is happening. Got a reply by 11:30 stating 23rd (tomorrow).

Why didn't Hazro notify me of this anyway? Just as well the Mrs will be home.

It just seems terribly disorganised. Hazro should confirm the time and date of collection then no-one will be confused and feel the need to bring their screens to work etc just in case FedEx do turn up unexpectedly.

I am meant to ordering a new PC and monitor for my parents today from OCUK.

Are the Hazro 24Wi screens they are selling now, the updated firmware or not, does anyone know? What would be a better choice for them to do photography stuff on, the NEC?

I just ordered, and the guy specifically confirmed to me that it was the updated firmware on the phone. He spent about 2 or 3 mins checking up, so we'll see if it's true.

I already have the 26Wi for myself which I think is great and was lucky with. The 24Wi is for my parents who are into photography but they didn't need a 26 inch screen. I hope they were telling the truth on the phone.

p.s. in terms of my 26Wi I don't have any issue with the 'snow' and by backlight is good etc. I only have a slight banding issue on spectrum gradient tests. Are Hazro releasing the firmware upgrade for the user to update this themselves which is specific to just the banding?

The process for 26Wi firmware upgrade will happen 'at least 10 working days' after the 24Wi fixes and will involve filling in an online form - the same as what 24Wi owners are currently doing now. Then your screen will be sent off to be upgraded. In additional there will be an option to lower the back light luminance level if you prefer.

Well, it seems knowing an account manager at Hazro surely does speed things up!! We got talking after a mini roll out of Hazro's at our studio and we struck a deal under the WEEE guidelines. I am getting replies back to my emails within 5 minutes - good job I took his card. I've asked about the OCUK issue and if any stock has been updated. All 24" will be updated by Wednesday and returned to all resellers including OCUK for re-sale. Damn, didn't ask about 26" - will post once I receive word.

Mine's also gone. I was out of the office today, but had confirmation from a friend that my monitor has been collected. TBH, even with the issues, I am missing it already. This 17" TN panel seems awful.

Great news :) which leads to the following statement : the replacement LCD I'm receiving from OcUK tomorrow won't be an upgraded one :/

Nice one Nando. I'll await my own update before I advise the boss here whether to plump for some.

How many have you got at your studio?

We had 5 but down to 3 now - we took 2 units for our 'home offices' and slapped the invoice on company accounts!!! he he he...having a great time playing COD on the 24" - all in the name of work of course! ;)

very much doubt it....you may want to put your order on hold if possible?

Since the day I received the dispatch notification email I tried to stop everything but it was impossible, despite my numerous emails asking them to send me only an upgraded one ... Each time I send back a monitor it costs them 100€ (75£) to refund me the delivery charges, I don't understand why they sent me that monitor  We'll see what I'll receive tomorrow anyway !
