Hazro - Any Update?

At least the PS3 snow is nice and repeatable for Hazro to do some testing. It's also pretty difficult for them to blame a graphics card in that instance too.

They could blame the PS3 for outputing a non-standard HDMI signal.

I had a joytech xbox control centre 540c that didn't work with the wii and they blamed the wii component output for the problems and as far as I know nothing ever happened about it, their support was was pretty poor at replying (as in they didnt) to emails. Last joytech product I ever buy.

Well im having to send the monitor back for a refund, shame really because it's a nice monitor. I don't want to risk getting another and finding I have the same problem.

Unlucky dude :( as the hunt for the best 24" for my needs ends the same hunt for you continues! it's an interesting hunt and worth it in the end when you find one you like :)

Problem is it's the only one I do like. Don't like TN panels and the Hyundai PVA panel suffers from ghosting so that's out and the HP suffers from input lag - not a lot but I would notice it.

Is no one else finding green snow using the PS3?

An update on my situation:

Ocuk say that because i'm sending the monitor back to them it comes under "not wanting" meaning I have to pay to send it back and it will be put back into stock despite having this obvious fault when using HDMI. They say this is the case because Hazro deals with the warranty (which haven't got back to me even though I messaged them early this morning).

What a ***p situation to be in, pay to send it back (and then you might be the lucky one to get mine) or wait till Hazro get in contact and run the gamble of getting another one with the exact same problem as they don't have a fix for it.

How long have you had it? If less than 28 days you can reject it under the sales of goods act as not being of satisfactory quality/fit for purpose and you should suffer no financial penalties.

Just a quick question to the board members: is there anyone here who sent their monitor in to be repaired and havent gotten it back yet (for the origional banding problem)? Im still waiting for mine and I havent got a response yet...

Hi,

Looking into the whole 24 inch monitor market for photo editing purposes. Now that the new firmware has been applied to these hazro models is it a safe time to be buying one?

Snow isn't fixed, you should be ok if you have a Geforce card and there are software solutions for ATI cards (changing DVI port has completely fixed mine too). You might get green snow from a PS3 / xbox (have yet to notice green snow IN GAME on my PS3, but it does sparkle in the menus) but the banding has gone.

Hope this helps.

Had no problems when I had a PS3 at my house with the green snow, but didn't watch movies for more than maybe 2 hours. Anyone know if this green snow effect occurs with PC blu-ray drives?

PS. Had no problems at all with my monitor.

To be honest though mrk, how long will it last. You strike me as the type of person who will immediately replace your Hazro the second a new screen comes along that might be better.

How long will what last exactly? FYI I've owned another screen whilst having the hazro at the same time (the HP) ONLY once and that was after months of hazro ownership waiting to see if anything else comes out that offers the same IQ as the hazro but without the then limitations/issues.

No offence but I don't think you've been keeping up with the thread and only been reading a few things you want to read and forming an opinion immediately then.

I've also had the Hazro the longest of all the 24" screens I've owned now, it's the only screen that I've repeatedly said to offer what I feel to be (even whilst I had the HP) the best IQ, the best build quality, the best look and feel and the best customer service considering the issues I've reported to the maker and the responses and late night conversations I've had with their people over the phone (they called me even).

Those are the reasons why your reply above confuses me because I never replaced the Hazro, I got the HP WHILST owning the hazro so I could compare both over a few days and whilst I liked the HP at first the issues were not apparent right away abd once they were I made my choice on what I'd keep.

I posted about all this through updates in both HP and Hazro (and the Dell, BenQ & Hyundai) threads at the times of their existence.

Just playing Devils Advocate here: did you not post that you were going to get a refund and send the Hazro back? :p

I did but that was because my initials thoughts of the HP were good until I noticed why people complained about wide gamut screens! I never actually gotthe refund, kept both to see side by side.

I just got a PS3 last week, and haven't tested it with my screen (which will hopefully come back early next week). When does the green snow come when using the PS3? If on the main menu screen (that XMB thing), what colour setting are you using for the menu background?

For me, I tried a few different blu-rays and I got no green snow at all. I then moved my computer into a different room and fired up the ps3 and got instant green snow on the menus. Played a blu-ray and green snow all over the screen :(

So the unfortunate thing is, if you don't have it yet you could well do in time.
