Hermes (now rebranded to EVRi)! Why are they so good?!

I believe they are one of UK's largest couriers, so good luck with that. How many times before have they failed to deliver?

Can't remember last time I had anything from Hermes and even then it's only been cheap eBay parcels with no set delivery time frame. Also it's only the second time I've ever ordered anything from Sports Direct so shouldn't be too hard. What's made it worse is I paid extra for set delivery day and it still didn't arrive.

I know DPD are rated highly amongst these parts but they did this with me once too where they delivered to the wrong street and left my stuff in some wheelie bin "safe place" at the address along with a photo of the inside of the said bin. Like what proof was that? Everyone in the district has the same colour wheelie bin!

EVRi / Hermes are still terrible.

Suttons sent live plants with them, a week ago. Took 8 days to deliver and when they arrived the box had been shaken about so much there wasn't any soil in any of the pots, all plants dead, stems snapped, totally destroyed.
Large package marked 'Live Plants' 'Fragile' 'This way up'

Box looked OK on the outside but inside was totally trashed like it had been thrown down a flight of stairs upside down.

My local driver, lives round the corner and is actually pretty good with the deliveries and timings.
Main issue is items are thrown around in transit/sorting.

I wouldn't trust them to delivery a bath sponge wrapped in bubble wrap.

I will actively avoid ordering from companies that I know use Hermes or Yodel and i’ll pay more elsewhere to get literally any other delivery service.

They are beyond useless, showing up sometimes at midnight (!) or often not at all, then I can’t talk to anyone to sort it out, they don’t answer emails or take any notice of what I tell them, or go to a depot to collect the item myself.

I can't believe how bad some peoples experience is with hermes/evri.

I've probably sent 30-50 parcels with no issues. And never had an issue with delivery.

It's a percentage game, they will lose one eventually, just like DPD will, which is why I find it amusing how some will avoid a courier based off of one bad experience.

I actually had a package turn up the other week that was dispatched a 12 months ago from an international sender. DHL lost it, but they did eventually find it somewhere and continued to send it on instead of giving it to an employee which suprised me. It happens.

That is Suttons fault they used the cheapest Evri option delivery and crap packing, I stopped using them a few years ago because they are crap, I now buy all plants etc from a few good ebay stores, Evri where I live is great and has been for over 2 years

Agreed. It will happen. I ship so many parcels I don't even insure them.

With insurance the house always wins so as I ship regularly enough I'll eat any losses.

If it's extremely expensive I will insure. But not. For under 200

Usually when you pay for an upgraded delivery, the merchant will use a guaranteed delivery service. It seems with Sports Direct they just take your money and send it out with the rest of the parcels and hope for the best.

Evri Hermes are still abysmal. I can only assume Monday, Tuesday & Wednesdays are none working days to them. Good job it's not a Christmas related parcel.

Same here, even sent some items next day this week and they all arrived on time.

RM on the other hand... I won't be using them again if I can help it.

Can add me to the list of Evri victims, ordered some trainers last Tuesday, last Thursday get a notification my parcel is delayed and there has been no tracking update since... Great!

One of my Wife's xmas presents is currently in Evri limbo. Ordered on the 12th, went missing on the 17th, after it was at the delivery depot at 7:07.

11:08 - Sat Dec 17
We're sorry, your parcel has been delayed. We're working to get it on its way on the next working day and we'll let you know once it's out for delivery
