Hermes (now rebranded to EVRi)! Why are they so good?!

Evri just tried to deliver an empty bag to my wife, obviously empty, ripped open and no item so she refused to accept it.

She gets onto the seller, oh, tracking shows you refused delivery, we can't guarantee you'll get it before christmas. Yes but the bag was empty, well you should have accepted it and sent us pictures, we'll investigate and get back to you within a week.
Update on this, still in the system for Evri doing the rounds, they've attempted a re-delivery of the empty package twice since - absolute joke of a company.

might explain a lot of the issues folk are having with evri.......
Going by the sheer number of people having issues and the time frame that would have to be one of hundreds of instances over years...
It also doesn't explain the way packages sometimes turn up months later ;)

TBH that one sounds like they really skimped on security given there doesn't seem to be any mention of the criminals threatening staff of anything.

ah my bad - i was being sarky! i've had enough experience of this lot now to know a bit of robbery here and there is the least of their issues!! :p

Dare I say it... This won't be popular.

Good resolution by... Yodel!

Parcel said "delivered" yesterday when it wasn't.
I was able to get on chat at 5pm ish almost immediately. The agent looked into it and said they could see the problem (GPS not liking up)

Delivered today. And a followup email apologising and confirming GPS successful delivery, time and a contact for any more issues.

Wish dpd were that easy to contact

I know most people's experiences with Evri are dreadful, but I must say, our local delivery chap is very polite & friendly. Stuff never turns up damaged. They don't always come to collect when they say they will, but otherwise they've been fine for us on a local delivery level.

Oh the local guys seem fine, ours have tended to be good to very good throughout over the years.

The problems I've encountered with them have all been to do with the depots and inter depot transits.

I had a delivery last Friday planned with Evri, and due to my own fault of not checking the address on the parcel had my old house number and street name but my new post code. Not sure how I've done that as I've lived in the new house over 4 years. I missed a call from the delivery person who left a nice voicemail which again my fault. Now I've gone onto the delivery portal and sent the new details but its still asking me to add more information. I tried calling them but getting through to a person seems very hard. I have a feeling the package will now just sit with them untill it goes back to the sender. Its only a jacket from Mountain Warehouse but annoying that once something goes wrong it seems impossible to rectify from my end.

Ok, so one retailer has sent another item which actually arrived with Evri, no sign of the other parcels though. So that's one retailer out of pocket. Another eBay seller has issued a refund as I can't wait any longer. So there's a small business out of pocket.

I wish places would advertise the courier they use so I could avoid them

Had a delivery today - was due 11.00 - 13.00 - Said to wife at 12.50 they had better get a move on.
A bit later she said it's in porch.
How she (delivery driver) backed up drive and dodged three cameras I don't know - I am sitting here looking at the screen.
Probably turned on the cloaking device.
To be honest we have never had any problems with any deliveries from anyone.

I'd just go back to the retailer and say parcel was damaged in transit and leave it to them to sort. They can at least see on the system that you haven't accepted delivery so shouldn't have any issues getting a replacement or a refund.

Retailer dragged their heels a bit insisting they needed to wait on the parcel to make it back to them and interally investigate, then copy paste reply emails every few days repeating the same. Finally got them to relent with a strongly worded email mentioning a chargeback and a replacement was despatched today.

I've been waiting on some vinly from America where I'd cleverly managed to mix up my parents address with my old postcode as I was in the process of moving and unfortuantely, Evri are dealing with the delivery now that it's in the UK. Apparently they'd tried to deliver it over a week ago but I don't see how as I really doubt they'd have the sense to just Google the right postcode and the correct address is 7 miles from the postal area they're looking in.

Anyway, I got frustrated at not being able to talk to anyone to give them the correct information so on Monday, I decided to e-mail their CEO Martijn de Lange ([email protected]) and low and behold, I got a call and an e-mail from the Executive Office today to advise that they're looking into the matter & would get back to me in 24-48 hours once they've done some digging

My Evri lady is spot on, always reliable, got chatting with her just before Christmas and she was saying on top of the extra from the Royal Mail strikes they are getting lumbered with Amazon deliveries too.
