***Hogwarts Legacy - RPG***

Really enjoying the game so far, around 10 hours in.

Broom controls suck.

The broom peed me off too, so I installed "Mouse controls for broom" : https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/61

* Grab either the Normal or Inverted file, which gives you a *.pak file. Stick that in your ...Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks folder. Job done.

Other mods I'm using :-

SLPF - Stuttering and Low Performance Fix : https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/120
AUTOHOMORA - Auto Skip Alohomora Minigame : https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/297
(x6 Reshade options) Hogwarts Legacy Realism Overhaul Reshade Better Textures 2023 : https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/4
Remove fog : https://www.nexusmods.com/hogwartslegacy/mods/17

I'm a bit on the fence as to mods like that but the mini games add absolutely nothing to the game and the flying implementation is just stupid compared to what can be done on keyboard and mouse.

I am playing with a controller and flying is done well imo. I started playing with keyboard and mouse for a few hours but then moved to to a PS5 controller.

Yes, it's up the the individual re mods of course. For me personally if I don't like something from the off I'll try and change it there and then. The broom control was very annoying on keyboard and the doors were a silly distraction. The two visual mods have made my me go "wow" in plenty of places, were I doubt the game would have before. Horses for courses as always.

Awesome, didn't realise there was mods available. I'll have a look at the broom mod, thanks!

There is almost no adaption for PC on the flying - you can't use the mouse to adjust pitch, etc. which makes it poor compared to what keyboard and mouse can do.

With the latest nVidia drivers the shader compiling stuff on startup is acting weird for me - randomly takes much longer than before and the progress bar doesn't update properly. EDIT: Seems to be working OK now.

Plug in a controller, problem solved :p

No thanks.

Having upgraded the broom to the highest level and using a controller is actually been very satisfying.

I was actually just flying around the map last night looking for boss fights. I think I only got one left now :D

I get the feeling I am not that far away from the end now. Recently did the fourth trail and there is about 10 side quests left from what I can see. Still level 36, so I can see myself also finishing around level 38.

Going to wait until level 38 and buy and upgrade all my gear then as not sure I will reach level 40. That will likely happen later when I reinstall once they sort out RT to try it with that and just further explore enjoying the scenery and finishing anything I didn't bother with.

Well that was unexpected. Thought I had more main missions to go. Completed the game still level 36 but not far of level 37. Never did get to upgrade my gear again as mentioned in my previous post, can't be asked now. Will do it when I come back to the game in the future once we get more updates.

Finished the main missions and a lot of the side content yesterday. The story was nothing special but the game as a whole was pretty good. A solid 6/10 in my book.

Game is pretty good, proceeds to give it a 6 out of 10 :p

I agree with what you said, but the score I would go 8/10 as I had fun. Had the story been good it would have been a 9/10.

An argument can be made for 6.5. If it wasn't for the nostalgia I doubt I would have enjoyed it much. The story was indeed forgettable and the world though beautiful was filled with the usual cutty cutter open world tropes that make me put games down. Nostalgia and a love for the world drove me on but without that the game felt a little hollow for me.

Glad you had fun though.

On a side note I'm also glad I didn't pay full price ;)

Finished the main story and lots of side stuff, have ~50(steam says 53.9) hours. Game ran 100% smooth for me, only setting I changed was shadows, I always turn them to low or medium, I set medium for this. Think everything else was ultra but did not look though all the settings. I would give it 7.5/10. Somethings felt unfinished or just tacked on and lock picking sucks.

I’ve been playing this with the kids. My first impression was it was great, however the side quests do mount up a bit. I especially find the “use a plant or a certain potion on an enemy” very tedious, but you need to do them to unlock spells. The main quest is good and the combat is better than I expected. We just keep getting owl post and I know it’s going to
be more of the plant style ones. Stopped playing now until I get my new rig up and running but definitely going to finish it.

Yup, the lockpicking is compete repetative garbage, but it did make me think of the lockpicking in Thief: The Dark Project!

I caved in and bought the game yesterday. Managed to get through the introduction scenes and to the school, then the game started crashing, mostly in the transition screens from one area to another. Now I seem to be stuck at the second class (charm I think it was) where you have to pull some big round boulders and get points. Once that scene is done and it transition back to the class room the game crashes, have done it 4 times now.

I have verified the integrity of the game files, turned of Steam and AMD overlay, set the game to 'Run this program as Administrator', Disable fullscreen optimization and even reinstalled the game, but still no luck ! :(

So was wondering if anyone here might have some advice ?
