Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

Yeah, I've found some bugs, too. Like an audio log in the starting area that won't "mark as read", i.e. it still appears in the game display. And another one where Aloy wouldn't climb up a series of ledges. She'd get half way and then refuse to go further. I had to climb back down completely and try again.

Is terrible just how loud the PS4 fans get on thes newer games. Launch PS4 of course but still it shouldn't be this bad surely! Had to turn the tv up last night as I was struggling to hear over it

Mine is horrendous to the point where, even using headphones, you can hear it above everything else. Really detracts from the experience of story heavy or immersive games.

I can't see how the systems are allowed to be sold like that. In a way I'm glad it's not just me (sorry) was concerned it could be a fault

I have thought about selling my PS4 after horizon but what if the buyer complains about it :D

Hmm, well mine is also a launch model, but it only makes a gentle fan sound, even after hours of play, and I certainly can't hear it with the games audio playing. I do blow it out now and then with a can of air, which may have helped.

I've not come across any bugs as yet, but find some of the transitions, of time/lighting/weather a bit abrupt... I did get briefly stuck in some rocks, but got my self free after some leaping and rolling; otherwise its been solid. Oh, one other thing, sometimes I find it hard to spot the person who is calling to me :o

Got this for 'free' yesterday (bought a ps4 bundle in Argos, sold it within an hour for what I paid but kept the game), sat down about 9pm for a quick look at the next thing I knew it was 3am.

Looks amazing, gameplay is really fluid and the world is a pleasingly novel twist on the old posr-apocalyptic scenario. Liking it a lot so far despite some slightly cartoonist supporting characters.

Maybe I should give mine a clean! I'll admit I never have done! Though you would think it should be necessary but I can see why some would keep on top of it!

Just compressed air up its bum?

Only bug I found so far was animation related - a breakdancing fox lol. Fyi chaps, the Guerrilla devs seem to hang out on the HZD subreddit. Seems they post quite a bit too.

:( What now?

I feel sorry for people unable to play the game due to PS4 crashing on opening cinematic. That's a very strange bug and I didn't know people got these kind of bugs on consoles...Hopefully they'll patch a fix soon for those people.

My pro's fans seem to ramp up with this game to, other games that's "pro" enhanced makes the fans spin up a bit but not like this.

Seems to get more noisy when the weather effects kicks in.

Will give the can of air a go in the week.

You can clean the pro fan properly without breaking warranty stickers.

I'm fighting hard not to pick up a pro, as I just got PSVR also. I don't have a 4k TV yet though.

This game seems OK on my launch PS4 fan wise, The Witcher 3 used to really ramp them up.

Not sure about this tearing mechanic where you can shoot canisters and things off the robots. Why not just kill them outright? Unless this comes into effect later on when there are badass ones which have a massive amount of HP.

Basically it allows you to disable certain attacks etc, think early on its just getting you used to it. Later when the machines get bigger it's helpful. Keep getting hit with a ranged attack? Shoot it's laser off kind of thing.

This makes the fan in my Pro ramp up to a fairly loud level....

Tbh it's a great game but I am finding it a little repetitive now.

I thought the PS4 Pro was whisper quiet, hmm... Its not in a tight shelf is it?

The 1200 is hardly making any noise with it.
