Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

At Lv23 now and am doing quests around Meridian. I think I know where I've gone wrong - I'm still using the starter 'free' armour you get before you undertake the Proving, and I'm still using the same bow. I'm so stingy with my 8k of metal, so I'm going all out now after having my rear handed to me by a big nasty side quest boss.

Edit: Oh and I found a salmon :)
 
Yeah, I'm still wearing the same outfit from the beginning. I think it's the first game I've come across where you are supposed to change outfits depending on what you're fighting. So if you're in a corrupted zone, you should wear the anti-corruption outfit, etc. Too much faffing about if you ask me.

My favourite thing so far is just overriding the robots and let them fight each other. :p
 
So glad I waited a couple of days for my ps4 pro before playing this. Running at 4k on a 65'' oled It looks simply stunning. Only an hour or 2 in and really enjoying it so far.

thunderjaw ahhh hate that thing lol, thats where the birds came to attack also, dam birds lol
 
as a normal PC gamer (but PS4/Xbox One/Wii U owner as well) - the graphics on this game are quite outstanding - ok the 30fps a bit annoying but other than that simply stunning really

the mechs look both "realistic" and quite scary

I even quite like the story so far

great stuff

I haven't fought one yet but seen one and was eyeing up my chances, then about 4 NPC's when up to fight it and it took them out in seconds so had 2nd thoughts lol
 
I've rushed through almost all of the story quests, I think there may be one or two left and done just a few sidequests but I'm going to stop now and wait until I've got a PS4 Pro and 4K HDR TV. Then I'll play through more thoroughly and appreciate the game even more.

(The story hooked me from the beginning and I was desperate to find out what was going on.)

Yeah it's stunning, first hour or so is a little slow going, if you can call it that.

Not got far, but got to a bit that has amazing levels of detail , only on standard ps4!

Loving the story and gameplay to.
 
Just tried to fight my first Fire Bellowback, but he sure Bellowed me back to the ground.. Also among him were "cargo carriers" I'll call them, they had shields. All 3 combined was a quick death and I have no ice weapons.

Wait until later on in the game when you meet those crab carrier shield bunny hopping maniacs LOL
there is no way to out run them either... and there fast as hell, i thought this was gonna be easy i took out both of those rapters as i call them lol
then i went to attack the shell and got completely utterly destroyed.... the only way i could kill it fast was to focus both those rapters and they both destroyed it with those crazy rolling attacks LOL

The fire bellowback was tough due to the closed enviroment.

I love the combat in this game but sometimes the battles are so frantic its hard to equip items and lay traps mid battle.

I LOVE this game. The pacing is great and it feels like there is always something new round the corner. The visuals really are something else, I'm always taking time out to admire the views!

Did my first cauldron last night. It was rather enjoyable. Looked pretty cool as well. My only issue was that the bloody game froze on me so I had to quit to the dashboard :mad::(
