Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

With regards to hdr TV for this (and future hdr games), I read that if I'm sat 2 to 2.5m away from the screen I need to get a huge screen to see any benefit. This I don't understand, I thought sitting so close wouldn't matter and I'd infact need a smaller TV. I was scoping the 49" ks7000. Confusing!

A smaller TV is indeed better if you sit close. If you had something like 65" you'd probably see the pixels. I sit about 1.5m from my 40" 1080p TV and can see the pixels. So if I got the same size in 4K, I shouldn't be able to.
 
even after playing for 3-4 hours my jaw is still dropping at the visuals and how smooth the PS4 is managing it

RoboCod - yeah 4k is nice - but I'm playing on a 42 inch 1080P Panny from 2 foot away and its sharp as
 
PS4 PRO = OLED = 4k = HDR = FTW :)

turning off HDR and 4k modes in the game, though makes the game not look quite as good .... still a awesome looking game though... but no where near as good as 4k+HDR..
 
Level 33 now and I've got to the point in the storyline where we found out what happened to mankind... Still enjoying the game hugely but it has got to the point where I am constantly juggling stuff in my Resources inventory as I keep running out of space. Animal hunting it also driving me up the wall trying to find a flamin Fox or Raccoon that will give me the right loot :o

Hmmm seems a lot of people are complaining of broken audio when using surround sound systems. I'm definitely not getting sound from the rear speakers yet when I go back to the home screen I suddenly get sound again, tried a few other games and they all work.

Hope they patch it soon as it's bugging me not getting the full surround sound experience

Did warn you guys ages ago to keep hunting while you are playing story lol.

Just under level 36 myself, got one more hunting ground to complete and two power cells to get for amour.
 
Yeah, I can't find a fox skin for love nor money. Every fox I see, I shoot but still nothing.

Does anyone know what year this game is supposed to be set in? I'm trying to fathom out the story in my head but the timescale is particularly confusing.

I'm sure that will come out in the story at some key point. I'm keeping well away from any guides or sites about this game so I don't ruin what is a very interesting story.
 
The Watchers can be one shot killed via an arrow to the eye, cant seem to find any one shot kill weaknesses on other machines like the strider.

Is it a case of just needing a better strength bow?
