Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

I found the first frostclaw pretty easy and managed to do it in one go. But then again I am cheeky and like to throw down loads of the explosive wires then lure them over to it and runaway.. Rinse and repeat until they are dead.

Oh I was also lvl 50 with all shadow weapons and the armour from the tomb that you have to find the energy cells for.

It is a shame there isn’t going to be any other DLC to open up the big gate up near the Stormbird on the huge snowy hill. I want more maps. :(

Really enjoying this, completed a few side quests now and it is more of the same from the Base game but the Base game was so good I'm happy with it.

Just need one more Blue Gleam for the good looking bow...

Had to collect some Railgun part for some NPC at one of the earliest villages you encounter. The RG was mounted on a futuristic fighter plane in some hangar bay in an underground complex. Upon getting there you can see 3x red mines so you know what's down there....

I ventured in there and nothing. Quickly grabbed the RG and ran for the exit to make the climb up and out - and there was a stalker uncloaking. I quickly jumped over its head and ran for the climbing nodes and got out. At the top I decided to take pot shots and the useless Stalker - Hell why not? Suddenly felt a whack from behind that pushed me over the edge and to my death down below. Turned out there was one at the top too :(

Don't make my mistake!

I swear these Scorchers are becoming more violent in some of the areas I’ve been exploring, chasing me all over the place. Spent ages last night exploring the entire map then ran into a few fights.

Think I've made a mistake taking this on at ultra hard difficulty, it's one hit death in a lot of cases and just not fun, might have to go see if I have an older save from a normal difficulty and start it again, 60 odd percent done too :(

Bought this last night and as you all say, Ultra Hard seems like Super Mega Ultra Hard. :p

I've noticed some glitches though in the cutscenes - Aloy's Shield Weaver forcefield doesn't appear in them and her face paint keeps disappearing and reappearing. Very distracting. And for some weird reason when I started the game up and had a look at the new skills, I had 54 points available and was able to buy all the new skills immediately. Oh and the frame rate dips! Zoinks. When those pulse things fire and the machines are after you, it must have dropped into the teens for a moment.

Looks like I was right to save all my shards. I've only got about enough for one of the new bows so that's going to be a grindfest to buy the other two and the
regenerating health armour

I did think an entire area full of snow would be boring but it turns out not to be the case. Plenty of variety in the scenery.

The Scorcher - does this absolute PITA have a real life counterpart because I've never seen anything so aggressive. It's just constantly on your rear making it difficult to carry out an attack plan other that dropping a ton of proximity bombs!

Also I'm back to my part time job of hunting for animal parts :o

Heh, I used to think the Sawtooth, then Ravagers were fast until this. Knock off its mine device as quick as possible. Only problem is the beast will still lunge for you from a great distance even near its death.

Has anyone tried the hunting grounds yet? I managed to scrape Blazing Suns at all of the Base game grounds, but this is something else!

Also if you have completed a certain side quest there is an extra challenge up there which is different and difficult!
