But the difference is he doesn't walk aruond with it strapped to his back, glowering at people and showing off how loud his fans are....
We had a car meet in a supermarket carpark a couple of weeks ago and the coppers turned up. As soon as the words "car club" were mentioned they were happy and trundled off to leave us to socialise. Probably the only good experience I have had with the police.

Until you are involved in a car accident, or witness one occuring, and can't read the licence plate of the guilty parties car.. sure.
And remember, Boy racers are 99% of the time doing faster than the speed limit and thus more likely to both hit someone, and kill them, than those actually doing no more than the limit.

I love to see the boyracers who have those 'HUGE' whale tail spoilers on, they dont even know what there for and if they do then the'll know that they create downforce to help cornering and to grip the road better, but dont these ***** know that you have to do 100+ if not even faster than that to create downforce and i'm sure your average nova does that.

Prats mostly, fly up our highstreet at 50-60mph on friday nights when there are people all over. Even during the day, why they think I should want to hear their racket I don't know, funny thing is, a boy racer sees someone 16-25 and suddenly turns his crap music up to full volume. It's like saying "look at me, I'm a ****"

Enthusiast - though many of my friends are "boy racers"Originally posted by MindYerBeak
Are you a Boy Racer, someone who poses and seeks attention from passers by, or are you a car enthusiast?[/b]
Because there is a worrying trend to lump anyone who likes cars into one category. If an enthusiast then why take exception to a complaint?
Yes you have a right to complain, although wouldn't complaining to the police be more effective than ranting ona forum?'Tis not my fault boy racers have given themselves a bad name, especially in my area and I have a right to complain when a boy racer whizzes through a supermarket car park at 30mph simply attention seeking, don't you think?
I'm sorry I don't understand why someone would have been killed and not injured? Is anybody struck by a car in a car park instantly guaranteed to die? What a shocking revelation. It may have been 6am but there were 40-50 cars parked there by early morning shoppers and someone could have been killed. Not injured, killed. Would you all be protecting your boy racer image if someone had been killed, I wonder? Or if I had had my leg decapitated by a poser?
As a sensible human being capable of independant sentient thoughts and actions I manage to avoid tarring people with the same brush.Don't shout at me and accuse me of destroying your precious image, blame the posers that give you a bad name. It's human nature to tar everyone with the same brush, even if just a minority act like attention seeking, frustrated teenagers.
Blame them? Because you are not informed or interested enough to form a reasoned opinion? No thanks, I'll stick to blaming you.I understand taking exception to being branded the same as the looneys, but that's the price you pay when others give you a bad name. Blame them, not me.
Tripe. If I want to listen to music loud then I will (says he with no car stereo atm)Blaring music emanating from a car on the highway is nothing more than attention seeking and is a nuisance to pedestrians and road users.
Huge ignorance on your part I'm afraid. Performance exhausts by their very definition aid gas flow and engine performance. In order to do this they must be of a larger bore and are less silenced. Therefore they will be louder. So, too, is a needless loud exhaust. Why have a loud exhaust when there isn't a need? To seek attention. That's not modding, that's annoyance.
And I've seen people coughing their lungs up from cigarrete smoke produced by selfish smokers, and people frightened by drunken tramps. Although for anyone to be afraid of an exhaust note is a rather odd concept to say the least.I've seen many a young child and mother frightened and walk away from the kerb when a loud exhaust comes screaming past, and I've even seen some kids crying in fear as a result.
I would - exhausts sold in the UK must conform to strict legislation, overly loud exhausts will be marked quite clearly "For Competition Use Only"I wouldn't be surprised if the noise level is also illegal.
Or the windows down because it's a nice day? Or because (like me) they just prefer to drive with the windows down? The discos they have in their cars - with the windows wound down to attract passers by - is certainly illegal and causes noise pollution.
Local newspapers will condemn anything for the sake of a story. Most people should really have learnt this by now.Car thieves don't go around touting a banner saying "This car is stolen". The police have no way of knowing a car is stolen or not, they have a difficult job to do in catching them. Those who use built up areas as a racing track, as is the case in Swansea, need to be stopped, before someone is killed. Boy racers have given themselves a very bad name here, are a nuisance and danger to the public. Blame them for giving you a bad name, not me. Even the local newspaper is condemning them.

99%, I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't see why people have such a problem with modified cars, if they are breaking the law and deliberately causing distractions to the general public, then fair enough, but just slating people's cars and stereo-typing the drivers of these cars is pointless to say the least.
