Last I heard the Silverstone power unit was proclaimed OK, has it since developed an issue?

It was mentioned that post-qualifying Honda noticed something and so they replaced the engine before the race. Now sounds like Perez' may be damaged from that as well.

There's something very wrong when you can go off the track and just floor it and gain time rather than lose it like you would in the old days, mistakes should be punished not rewarded.

Yep, but that's all classed as 'good racing' in modern F1... Just like when he turned into Mick and they touched... It's all BS but it is what it is, still just about better than the BTCC Bumper Cars.

Always nice to see a debut win, especially in bonkers circumstances. Congrats Ocon :)

Definitely, such a great job holding Vettel behind for the whole race as well :)

To be fair to Red Bull; I don't see how we can say that Merc suddenly look on top; Max didn't even get a chance at Silverstone and this track is almost as much as one-off as Monaco.
Once we get back to Spa I'd expect it to be pretty close again.... if Max can make it around turn 1 unscathed.

A little gutted for Vettel today would have loved to see him back with a win; however I think we can say without doubt now; Vettel is back.
Alonso looked great as well for 40; some cracking racing there with Hamilton.

I think it's still too hard to say who has the better car, neither this nor the main race at Silverstone can really be used as comparison. The sprint race at Silverstone the RB was clearly better both in pace but also tyres management as well. What Merc have done is massively improve the one lap pace and that tyre life could've just been a consequence of limited practice with new parts, hard to tell.

BREAKING: Sebastian Vettel has been disqualified from the #HungarianGP, losing his second place Stewards were unable to take the required amount of fuel for sampling following the race

I feel bad for him, and I'm no Vettel fan, and the team members, however does bring a small smile as I dislike the Strolls :p

</end quotes>

Bit of a crazy race, I enjoyed it though (obviously). Gutted for Norris and Leclerc, great for Ocon, Latifi and Russell.

Alonso did a great job defending, albeit similar to my complaints above about modern F1 driving standards, still if he hadn't help hamilton up for so long he would've won easily, you could see at the end if Hamilton had just another 2 laps and it would've been done.

Didn't see stroll get anything for his part in the other retirements. What's your thoughts on his lack of punishment?

I’m surprised he hasn’t. I haven’t read the f1 site to see, but I would be very suprise if he doesn’t for taking out CLC.

I’m sure the dotage looked like stroll might have been able to continue, the. Just after moving away from turn one his front touched another wheel and broke the suspension or something. I’ll see if I can find a clip.

I’m pretty sure Stroll has also got a 5 place grid drop for the next race too.
