HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

Go one then..beat 5 cars in one lap in the rain..lets see it..

I am waiting

what about doing a lap 10 seconds faster than everyone else?
look at the gap on lap5 then look at the gap on lap6 :D
5.873 seconds on lap 5
16.047 on lap 6

10.174 seconds faster than the guy in second place in the rain speaks for itself surely?

Your dislike for MS is quite obvious, but there's no need to continue acting like a royal **** about it.

If you want lots of overtaking in the rain, I suggest you go and look up the Belgian GP of 1995 where Schumacher crashed heavily in Qualifying, started 16th, was 5th by the end of lap 9 and won in changing conditions. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Who was second? Whoever it was could have gone off the track or aquaplaned? Need more proof that it was a fairly steady time from the second placed driver on both laps to prove it was Schumacher who eeked out a 10 lead gain on that lap.

Villeneuve WAS second but Fisichella was about half a second behind him, so there's no real argument there. I was expecting that to come from deuse, actually.

skip through the video and look at the times, he pulled out atleast 10 seconds on everyone from 2-6th place, 2 of them pitted but fischella didnt which is why he ended up 2nd on lap6 yet he was still 10.1 seconds slower.

brundle even mentions schumacher beeing 10 seconds faster than everyone else.

have some spa 95, schumacher on slicks holding off hill for around 2 laps , some probably wont like how schumacher drove but it made good racing and and took insane skills

the reason schumacher won a lot of races in the pits/because of pit stratergies etc is because of performances like this where you can clearly tell the car is beeing pushed to the limits but there are also some epic duels with hakkinen etc that proove he could overtake and handle wheel to wheel racing.

I was just wanting to be sure it was Schumacher who earned a 10 second lead and wasn't given it. Nothing wrong with wanting the full facts? :)

Not at all! I just assumed you'd watched the video :)

Crikey arknor - is that Ben Edwards commentating in the first video? Get him in instead of Legard, he's brilliant. LOL at Papis.. what a tool.

Word has it that John Howett from Toyota has been asked to attend a rather urgent meeting in Toyko.

With the Concorde agreement due to be signed by the end of the week (and the teams having to commit until 2012), I wouldn't be surprised if BMW and Toyota made some major announcements soon.

BMW are making an announcement soon
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77398

An emergency press conference has been called at BMW's headquarters in Munich, where it is suggested that the car company may reveal that it has decided to end its involvement in F1.

If Toyota do quit hopefully they'll go into Le Mans

Williams can go use Cosworth for all I care ... they should have sided with FOTA :)
Well it depends on Toyota's engine contract with Williams. If Williams have a contract for at least next season and Toyota withdraw from F1 completely after 2009 I reckon Frank will either demand engines now or muchos cash in compensation to be able to pay for Cosworth.

But I can't understand why Williams aren't siding with FOTA. Don't know enough about Frank Williams' thinking to understand this.

Supplying engines to Williams is not that hard though, the engines are the same as this years so Toyota simply need to manufacture enough of them and then say "here you go", have fun.

Good. They were using the FIA fight as an excuse. As were toyota. Sooner or later they will all have to realise for the good of the sport it's too expensive and requires far too many resources to be competitive.

I don't expect Williams, renault and Brawn to last much longer.

BMW will probably get sold to sauber :D

Remember Williams is one of the few teams left without a commercial concern (be it an airline, fizzy drinks or selling cars) - they only exist to race in F1 and thats it.

Not only that of course there is history between Frank and Bernie - before and after FW's accident

Problem for Toyota is that the cost of each engine sky rockets if they arent manufacturing them for themselves at the same time.

It could end up a lot cheaper to pay off Williams than to have x man hours working machines (and buying /fabricating parts and assembling / testing) for engines Toyota themselves will never use

The Williams car has got pretty darn good - it would be a real pity to have it relegated with a Cossy engine (I really cant see them coming up with anything half decent straight away after their last couple of attempts)

edit - Piquet is a gonner, hit the nail on the head though regarding his boss/manager

Not quite. For Williams and Brawn, all they do is Formula 1, so they would stay. It's the other companies that are more likely to pull out. Williams, Brawn and McLaren are pretty safe to be honest.

I doubt McLaren where ever really likely to quit F1 (whatever form it took), Im not saying they would have necessarily been in the same formula as Williams though ;)

They have got external interests now (like the SLR) but still predominantly a racing team like Williams and Brawn
