When it comes to problems with cats, you are probably much better off contacting some like the cats protection league rather than the RSPCA. These folks do some very good work.

Poor little fella, good work on doing this.
I'll be interested to follow his progress as we lost our cat last year who had similar looking injuries (ours was attacked by a dog whose owner was unable to control him). He was unable to move his back legs either and it turned out he had his back leg dislocated which required him to visit the Fitzpatrick Referrals place (from the recent TV series) who did a brilliant job in fixing him up. Unfortunately due to his age (12) he didn't recover due to low red blood cells and had to be put down as he was fitting and suffering in the end
My cautionary tale here is that a weeks worth of operations, transfusions and specialist care took the bill to £3.5k - of which we had no insurance. Yep, that was a double blow, but we were happy to pay as he was such a big part of our lives. Suffice to say our other cat (and now a replacement) have the highest possible coverage!
I'll be happy to chip in too, but will be very annoyed if the owners just abandon him.

How much do you pay a month? Someone else in the thread mentioned £25/month.
Assuming a cat lives 15 years, you've paid £4,500 in insurance.
I pay that for my two put together. Insurance has already paid out close to 2 grand in claims though, which I am very grateful for.
£25 would be far too much a month for a cat. We pay something like £6 a month for ours.
