I found a broken cat this evening :/

:(he was damaged, we had the funds to rebuild him!

**** hole Owners put him down because the cant be bothered i bet

My sister in law is a vetenary nurse. Last year where she works a cat was brought in with pretty bad skin and fur because the cat had flea's. The owner never bothered to treat it and brought the cat in to have it put to sleep..........

She rescued the cat and adopted it. All it needed was some flea treatment and the skin problems cleared up pretty quickly. One of the nicest cats I've ever met as well. Some people don't deserve pets.

I'm so angry/upset to hear this :( I'm sure enough money could have been raised from here!

For the record I don't have insurance I have an account for vet bills paid into every month.

Most frustrating thing , is that the owners only live maybe within say 1/2 km, and that puts it down to around 20-30 houses, feel like door knocking with a picture of a very similar looking black and white cat saying...

I've seen this cat in my garden lots over the past few weeks, was wondering if I could feed it or does it belong to you? (or something to similar avail)

Soon find the owners for a bit of a frank discussion.

Give them a ring and ask for the microchip number. If you can get that you should be able to get the owner details off a website and get in contact.

The microchip number isn't covered by any confidentiality so they have no reason to refuse.

Try it worst that can happen is a no

RIP Cat6 :(

sad when it happens this way, you never know the owners might have wanted to just end its suffering quickly [the hard choice between lifespan and quality], although they could at least have contacted you if that were the case.

Really sad news :/ Personally if my cats were injured and I couldn't afford it I would beg/borrow/probablynotstealbutwouldconsider it to get things sorted.

Stay away. Honestly, it's out of your hands and nothing to do with you.
There are lots of reasons they never contacted you. I agree it's a shame, but just move on.

Of course, good on you for finding it and taking it to the vet but ultimately that's all you could do.

Money is only one of the reasons, but you don't know how old the cat was or the extent of the recovery process.
You also have to think of the well-being of the animal. Would it really be worth the operations and recovery?

Having put down two of my cats, including one only last month, (ages 12 and 16 respectively) I know how hard a decision it is but ultimately you have to look at the big picture. Cost wasn't a factor in either case.
(Kidney failure and cancer, if you're wondering)

RIP :(
